Free time? What's that?

Higher education. Ay, that's been taking up most of my waking hours (alongside procrastination, but I digress). The homework part, mainly. To all those in high school at the moment, I envy you. What's probably making it worse was that I had little homework in year 11-12 (kinda because I did those through a college). Before that I barely did homework. Really goes down well, let me tell ya.

Back to now. We were doing an accounting question in groups on Thursday night. Took us two hours to get through it. Oh yeah, did I mention the class lasts three hours? And that we had four similar questions for homework? I gotta wonder how much time on our hands the have. Well, I don't really count, laziness is my problem, but the rest of the class are at work for the better part of the week. Theirs is a strange brand of logic. Plus there's an exam on Thursday and two assignments coming up (the course I'm is divided into two classes, accounting and tax). Such fun!

To be fair, it doesn't usually take two hours a question, but still. Most of the class, jobs and so on. And it still takes a fair bit of time to get through the questions anyway. The accounting and tax exams I've has so far have about five questions and a two-and-a-half/three hour limit a piece. And by god there's a reason you get that amount of time.

To make me stop feeling sorry for myself, anyone care to share stories about homework that takes forever and a half to get through?

    My biggest problem last semester was burnout. I had class three nights a week, but they assigned overwhelmingly busy work. In one of them, I had to undertake a very huge research project that involved blogging, interviewing, writing an annotated bibliography that had nothing to do with the final project, and other nitpicky stuff. Another class I had made us sketch out graphic novel/ comic strips in the home stretch, which was time consuming in itself.

    After finishing one assignment, I needed to cool down and those weren't enough.

    There was one week in April that I had a lot of reports and finals to deal with, as it is the last week of school (I'm an irregular student). Fortunately, there was a lot of time during the long weekend which included Thursday, Friday, and Monday. What I did during the weekend was tour East China. Due to amount of information I have to study, I had to bring my notes (mostly readings for philosophy), while I study in the bus and before going to bed. I've become rather lazy afterwards. As for the results, I barely passed my Philo exams (which was extremely difficult by the way), went well with the presentation (recommendation was still terrible though), and I end up getting B's and C's for that semester (which is somewhat an improvement).

    Now if you excuse me, I have to deal with my internship and whatever stress I will have for my upcoming year.
