It's probably a dummy date. They use those in their systems a lot with upcoming games. When it's official, Nintendo will announce it first, which they haven't yet.

Most of the time, the statements on release papers like that in stores such as Gamestop are just guidelines on when it's released, usually on their guess and not necessarily the actual date.

I'm not saying this isn't the date, I'm not actually aware of the date yet, but this has happened countless times before with Gamestop

Also, Serebii, have they ever made it fitting to past games' release dates? April 17 is a Sunday and it is during the Spring.

Of course, this is unconfirmed, but until then, this is actually a quite fitting date for the games' release.

Yeah they have done that in the past. It's just the date they have in their system, usually to guide pre-orders.

Again, it could be the date, but it's not indicative of it. Retailers are not your best bet for release info. They often know less than us

Usually they just slap it in the start, middle of end of the announced period so never that far off

I remember that they said that HeartGold & SoulSilver would come out on April 23. However, I was in complete disagreement as April 23 was a Friday. But April 17 is a Sunday, and seems much more accurate.

I'm assume placeholder for now because Gamestop gave three different release dates for HeartGold and SoulSilver and two different dates for Guardian Signs.

Why would anyone think May after the past five were released in March and April?
