Think About This: Starter Pokemon

I heard some rumours about the starter pokemons in Gen.IV being instead of fire, water, and grass it was gonna be fighting dark, and...uh...either rock, ground, or steel...oh well you get the point.
Anyway when i heard this...it was when i first came here ()
Although now it gives me an idea/question:
"Should they (the pokemon people) change the 3 main starter types?"
to me...well it doesn't matter...but it would be nice to see the starter pokemons to be a different type.
They could do it for Gen.V...but i kinda doubt it...many pokemon gamers and fans might get mad that they change the original types of starter pokemon...but it could be nice, so what do you think about this case?

Yeah, the rumor was on the Internet like four months prior to Diamond and Pearl's release in Japan. I was just as weirded out...

It'd be weird if they changed the starter Pokemon's types. But it'd be interesting at the same time.

It's going to be Water+_______, Grass+_______, and Fire+________.

The other type triangles aren't the same as Fire-Grass-Water (super effecctive →, not very effective ←). Besides, it's elemental types. Why would they get rid of that?

well you make a good point but you never know they might want to change a classic in pokemon games so people can try something new
