On the other hand, from what the theory implies there, one can easilly conclude that Madoka is Jesus getting rid the world of sin. Which kind of makes sense as in the post-universe grief/sin now isn't of a single person and instead materializes as impersonal Demons.

Hmm, I didn't know that was a separate result from the regular Madoka result, but that explains why there were always two possible Madoka answers in each question (that quiz was pretty darn easy to figure out if you were going for a particular result).

Is Homura really specifically Faust? I've read the Marlowe and the Thomas Mann versions, not Goethe's (although I've seen Gounod's opera) so maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like more the point is that they're all making Faustian bargains. Thomas Mann even makes an explicit connection to The Little Mermaid story, hence the fact that it's referenced with Sayaka's storyline.

The only way in which Homura seems to be particularly Faustian to me is the fact that Madoka's witch form is the name of Goethe's Faust's lover (Gretchen) and given all the yuri subtext between them... But it wasn't because Faust's bargain was actually about her.
