BEST STAR TREK CONVENTION EVER

This weekend I attended a Star Trek convention. It was my 5th convention, and I always go with my mom and sister. And I must say, it was the best convention ever!! I had sooo much fun! The best part about the convention was the fact that William Shatner was there for two days filming a TV pilot about fans! He was filming different aspects of fandom, and was talking to the fans that were attending the convention.
So the first day I was there, My family and I were sitting in the hotel lobby eating lunch when William Shatner comes into the lobby to film a scene for his pilot. He comes up to the table that we are sitting at and says, “We’re filming a scene here, and you guys will be in the backround. Just continue what you are doing and don’t look at the camera.” I responded with "ummm, ok!" I didn't know what to say!
So I might be in the background of this TV pilot.
Eating a roast beef sandwich. How weird is that!?
The rest of the con was just as exciting! Shatner also filmed a bunch of us running through the convention hall. It was a lot of fun. I also got to meet a few other celebrities from the show, and get their autographs (Dominic Keating and Connor Trinnear from Enterprise, Nana Visitor, Rene Auberjonois and Michael Dorn from DS9, Grace Lee Whitney, and Nichelle Nichols from TOS).
Nichelle Nichols was my favorite speaker. She told a great story about the time when she met Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and he told her that her character was really important.
And when I got her autograph she told me I was pretty :). She was really nice!
Can’t wait until the next con!
