My parents are cracking down on me :/

So after playing Metroid Prime 2 all day, my parents called me into the living room. They gave me this big long speech about how I'm going to be a man soon and that I shouldn't play so many video games and basically that I need to grow up. They told me I need to go outside more and make some friends (like I can make friends). And they said I don't need a job, but I should either volunteer or look for a job. So, yeah. That totally hit me hard. Any tips for someone who needs to "grow up?"

Ask them what playing video games has to do with being an adult when studies have shown that most gamers are in their 30s.

@Commander Mitsumi- they know nothing is wrong with them, they just say I should play them less and spend more time going outside. Guess I should've clarified :p

I don't see anything wrong with playing video games, as it can be a cognitive activity, but I think that it depends on how often you do it. I don't think you deserve what they gave you there, and I hope they don't do that to you again... social experience is good, but not necessarily when anyone pries it down your throat without stop.
