Recently, my band attracted a second guitarist, so we are now looking to expand our reportoire of songs.

Yesterday, the drummer gave me a call and reminded me that we all had to make a list of songs that we think would fit on our playlist. Needless to say I had forgotten completely about this, but I lied and told him I actually had a pretty impressive list of songs.

Now band repetition is tonight, and I still don't have a list of song suggestions. This is where you come in.

I figure having a community of people suggesting songs should net me a pretty impressive list.

Some guidelines:
We're primarily a rock coverband. We play music that's popular and well-known under a broad audience. Guitar Hero on stage, if you catch my drift. Some examples of songs we used play with the four of us, U2 - Vertigo, Bryan Adams - Summer of '69, Joan Jett - I love Rock 'n Roll. That kind of music.

Some suggestions the drummer made were:
Live - Dolphin's cry, Bon Jovi - It's my life, Guns 'n Roses - Sweet child o' mine.

Our setup is:
Drummer
Singer (female, but can do songs by guys, and we can transpose songs if neccesary)
Lead guitar (loves long solos a little too much)
Rhythm guitar (the new guy)
Bass guitar (me!!)

So hit me with your awesome suggestions!

Please, no death metal. :(

    Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus?

Thats a good song that would suit a feminine voice :3

We actually played two versions of that, a regular version and an accoustic version. I'm not sure if it's suited for playing with two guitars, though (not counting bass).

It is. I did one in my Music exam and the two guitars worked well together.

I guess we can give it a try.

    Any more suggestions, anyone?

    It's a rite of passage.

That's too instrumental and electronic. There's no way we can do that without a keyboard.

I managed it with two acoustic guitars

Well maybe, but the Dr. Who theme isn't that well-known outside the UK, and it has no lyrics either, so I don't think it'd be a good addition to our repertoire.

What about "The End" by the Beatles? it's short, but all the instruments get solos.

Hmm, I'll have a listen tonight and suggest it to the rest of the band. Thanks for the suggestion.
