So today, the newest expansion for World of Warcraft called Mist Of Pandaria has been released. So what's this expansion all about? Simple, really.
The war between the two factions, the Horde and the Alliance continues and during a naval battle, the two factions happens to find the continent of Pandaria, which was originally covered in a thick mist, making it impossible to find it. But after the events of the Cataclysm (the previous expansion) the mist lifted.
The war between the two factions continues in this new continent, but something lurks in the shadows of this otherwise peaceful continent, something that could threaten the world if this war continues.
That's about it, not gonna say anymore because that would be spoilers. Haven't played that much, but so far, I love it. We also get a new class called the monk, along with the new race, the pandaren. Now, before you say they're based on Kung-Fu Panda, read this link. Hopefully that will clear out that misunderstanding.
Now, since this expansion is based on the chinese culture, with some kung-fu element, and since I'm a sucker for kung-fu, this expansion is perfect for me. Oh, and the pandaren is very beer orientated by culture (even though I don't drink in real life, I don't mind in a game).
My personal favourite moment so far would be these texts from a quest:
Now, to be certain you get the idea...Starting it:
<Xiao does not look up from his bowl.>
Hey, new guy! Glad to see you survived the banquet! Trial One: Complete!
<Xiao eats noisily.>
You'd better speak up with Instructor Xann. He'll be expecting you for your daily exercises.
<He continues eating. You suspect that he is done talking to you.>
First, you drank too much beer... and then you show up to class late? Looks like you've already conformed to pandaren culture.
That is all...
