This is what I found in the mail today.



YAY IT'S HERE. I've been both looking forward to and dreading this anthology.

Looking forward to it because FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF YES N/CHEREN.

Dreading it because my contribution is bound to look like absolute shit compared to the others.

Yeah, I... kinda drew a 10-page manga for this anthology. I'm still not sure whether that was a good idea or not, but hey, I got a free copy of the doujinshi out of it.

Since I don't have my anthologies post up yet, I'll just slap everything about this book at the bottom of this post.

Btw, yes, my manga does indeed look like shit compared to the others.

Commentary and notable pieces: This anthology was organized by Fukiyu-san, who has been a twitter friend of mine since sometime last year, and Mukuri-san (aka Mizukami), who has been a twitter friend of mine since I missed the submission deadline and single-handedly held up publishing and I wanted to see if she was talking shit about me on twitter. (She was not, Japanese people don't do that unless they're on 2ch.) I don't really know any of the other people who worked on this though. :B

I have yet to read Yuzuriha's fanfic (UGGHHHH WOOOOORDS), but these are my favorites among everything else:

Cherenyan Observation Diary by Ichinose Machi: I'm not much a fan of the catboy archetype, but this is just adorable. N finds a cat-Cheren sleeping in Victory Road so he takes him home, and though Cheren doesn't like N much at first, he eventually warms up to him. Daww. :3

That Thing Called "You Reap What You Sow" by Pohe: Cheren is eating Casteliacone and N wants a taste, because he doesn't want to have to wait in line for it. Cheren refuses; N cleans some ice cream stuck to Cheren's face and then licks it off his finger, which makes Cheren flustered. N asks again for some of his ice cream, and they get in a bit of a scuffle which results in the Casteliacone falling on the ground. N ends up having to wait in line anyway.

Also, Yoshitani Suyoe's illustration is quite pretty. *___*

    Congrats on being in an anthology! If you're overseas, did the organizer of doujin had to pay more shipping herself or is that rude?

    Also, I want to see a page/panel scan of what you drew for it. :3

    (also, I left a comment on the other post, but it didnt get answered: how many total doujins do you have? curious~)

    Sorry I didn't respond to your earlier comment! I meant to go back and answer it right after making this post, but I... ended up taking a nap instead. XD; (And I didn't wake up until, like, an hour ago. Wtf is wrong with me?)

    If you mean just Pokemon doujinshi, I have about... 60 or 70? I haven't done an exact count yet, and I actually won an auction for a batch of 18 doujinshi the other day so that number is going to skyrocket when those come in. Total including other fandoms is... idk. Well over a hundred. XD

    As for the shipping cost, the organizers paid that themselves. (I offered to reimburse the cost, but they ignored that. XD)

    And if you really want to see my manga... I don't need to scan it, I already have the digital manuscript uploaded. (It even looks marginally better this way, because I f'ed up the screentones so they're all moire'd and ugly in the book.)

    Here's the first page. It's probably the best page, for what it's worth, but if you really want to see the rest you can just change the page number in the URL.

    Woooow, you're loaded down with doujins! *o* Currently I only have 47, with Hetalia having a huge chunk (19).

    Where do you usually get doujins (like those lots and stuff)? I usually got mine from eBay, online stores, and from LJ sellers/middlemen.

    And yes, screentones are fickle things.

    We can continue this convo on AIM if you want. lol
