Ah yes, that one. I was discussing the scene itself though, if you have never watched any AG episodes, and continued right onto movie 9, what would your opinion be?

Its not he scene itself thats shippy but its inclusion in the movie is what makes it shippy. That is possibly the most pointless scene in the anime buts its there anyway. It could easily have been May and Manaphy alone but Ash was included there as well. And out of all the Pokemon they could have put there, they chose the one that is literally a heart on its side.

That luvdisc thing is nothing more but a myth. You know how the pokédex exegarates things.

Then comes the question of why they are heart shaped, symbolism is everything.

If you are willing to accept the luvdiscs as a hint, then you have to accept it as a hint for Pearlshipping too, since they've also seen a luvdisc together XD

Simple: they included it so people would talk about it and engage in shipping wars. Hey, people still talk about Misty's special lure to this day.

The Pokedex says any loving couples who find Luvdisc will be blessed with eternal love. Ash and May were not a couple, and as they swam by the Luvdisc, nothing happened. They didn't suddenly take notice of each other or start falling in love. All of this leads me to believe that the Luvdisc scene was not a hint.

Besides, not only would you have to argue that it's also a Pearlshipping hint because Ash and Dawn saw Luvdisc together, but there's also the fact that Misty and Daisy each own one, and they're certainly not in love. :P

Because Pokedex entries are full of shit :P

As for PearlShipping - An entire ship was there. If a random person, alone and single, walks past like 4 Luvdiscs with a vending machine behind, you can argue that Vending Machine x Random is plausible.
