Shiny Patrat in Black 2/White 2

According to Serebii:
The magazine, Dengeki, has provided a first few glimpses at the early areas of Black 2 & White 2. This includes the routes of Route 19/20 as well as all the areas. It states that the first Pokémon you will encounter is a guaranteed shiny Patrat.
Is it just me, or does this remind anyone else of the infamous "the first Poochyena I encountered in RS was shiny and I cried because I couldn't catch it?"

    Even if a Patrat is shiny, it is still a shitty Patrat and will evolve into a shitty, shiny Watchog.

    To be fair, we don't know what kind of movepool buffs Watchog might get in these games.

    A Watchog with the the strongest moves is still a Watchog.

    I am not evolving Patrat simply because its shiny looks better. Maybe I'll make it my game's "Pikachu" (I did go through HgSs with a Spiky Eared Pichu...)

    ^ Scans have come up that it does exist and it's even catachable. Good thing GameFreak passed on an excellent troll opportunity by having us encounter it without any PokeBalls.

    Eh, Serebii was wrong, it was just the person playing who encountered a shiny Patrat and it is in no way guaranteed.

    See, the problem with set shinies is that once you put 'em in, everyone has them.

    Shinies are not valued despite their rarity, but because of it. It's an economics thing.
