Look at the design of this thing. Don't you see a problem?

If you answered there is no power button, you are correct.

I mean, you're *supposed* to turn it on by saying "Xbox on", which the Kinect thing should pick up and let you access the console. But a) it might not register, given how voice recognition technology ia b) you're still going to be searching for a power thing because every other console ever has had one. This is why Dragon Quest VIII's button mapping is horrible; you're going to try to cancel out of the menu but end up casting Heal! Oh, and c) you could have people in the room and not want to sound like an idiot.

Never liked the Xbox to begin with, but this really defeats any chance of me even THINKING of buying one. With the way every (which means EVERY) console is designed, you'd think they would keep the more... vital part? While Voice Command is a pretty cool thing on its own, I don't think we've reached the age when it's flawless, let alone work perfectly with a game console. So, yeah, I agree with you. This looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

I don't get your issues with this...

    A) While voice recognition does have its flaws, if Microsoft is confident enough to sell a product using voice recognition I'm sure it's going to work 90+% of the time.
    B) Don't you think you would know how to turn it on, I mean, you bought the system, you should have a general idea of how to work it.
    C) I don't really think people are going to care how you turn on an X-Box, as long as you're able to turn it on.

What if the microphone stops working?

You buy a new Xbox because Microsoft will make it so that there is only one Kinect for each Xbox and if it breaks, you have to replace the whole system.

I'm not even sure if I'm joking or not.

But can you imagine rage quitting?

    XBOX RAGE QUIT!!!!!!
    Rainbow and Berrenta like this.

@The Outrage ;If you really want to leave a mark, yell XBOX OFF into the microphone during an online match.

I don't get why Microsoft is so obsessed with Kinect, it doesn't seem like it adds much to the gameplay.
@The Outrage; Or they might do it like the Wii U Gamepad and have you special order a new Kinect and pay out the ass for it. It depends on how the console is set up, if you can actually unplug the Kinect, it can be replaced, but if not, you'll most likely need to either send it in to Microsoft or buy a replacement.

    A) I dunno, my thoughts on that might have been an exaggeration. Plus, as other people might be saying, Kinect could bug out, and then you're without a console.
    B) It's called muscle memory. Yes, I know Triangle is cancel in Dragon Quest VIII, but I keep on pressing Circle because that's the Cancel button more often then not (in the States, at least). The same principle applies here: you're still going to go to the console and look for the power button because every other console has a power button to turn it on.
    C) It can still sound stupid.
