I have found out, due to this article, Final Fantasy Versus XIII is, in fact, no longer in the making. Yep. All of that build up for absolutely nothing. Thanks for that, Square Enix.

On the other hand, the article does mention two things that people will probably like. Maybe. They are Final Fantasy XV (which, according to the article, is basically Versus XIII. So if you wanted to play it, there you go) and Kingdom Hearts 3.

The Versus XIII situation seems odd, to me, at least. If you're going to have FFXV keep the plot and world of Versus XIII...then why change the name? It's not like changing the system automatically gives you a pass to just change the name of the game. Then again, some games *cough*Skylanders*cough* have basically changed the game when they switch platforms. Both practices seem odd and pointless to me. Then again, I'm 13; what would I know?

Anyway, discuss. Or take this as you will. Or something. I dunno.

*insert alarm noises here*
<s>yes I know 99.99% of you who read this won't know what the hell this is and therefore it won't be your target but I needed a video game quote for the title and this was the best I got</s>
Anyway, I was on a wiki-walk spanning the Final Fantasy Wiki and Wikipedia. I managed to get to the Console wars page on Wikipedia, and read the third handheld console wars bit, and I noticed two things. One, in the second handheld console wars thing, the GBA outsold the PSP. Aaaaaaaahahahahahasuck it Sony.
Second, and the main reason I created this article, is for a new handheld system, currently under the codename Project SHIELD, by the company NVIDIA. Here is a link to its page.

For those unwilling to look at the page, check the spoiler for some less-impressive-looking info on the SHIELD.

It seems to have the same type of design as the Game Boy Advance SP: clamshell. Differing from it, however, is that it has a full set of buttons, set up like an Xbox controller (basically like the DS, except the X and Y and A and B buttons have switched places). It has HD support, (apparently) amazing Wi-Fi tech, and, y'know, the controller, which is the same size as, say, a Xbox or PS3 controller. It also (evidently) boosts great audio. It can run Android and PC games (from a special type of computer, I think, but I could be misunderstanding it).

Now, there are a few things standing in the way for the success of this system. One, it doesn't have any unique games. Yes, it has Sonic 4. And Skyrim. And quite possibly Final Fantasy. And [insert other popular game on the PC or Android]. But they're all available on other systems. Sure, PC games anywhere might sound sexy, but if it really is only for a certain kind of computer, and especially if you have to be in range: fuggedaboudit.

Next: the price. It can't sell for 700 bucks - that's at least thrice the price of the Nintendo 3DS. But it probably won't be as cheap as it, either - HD visuals, awesome audio and Wi-Fi, a full-sized controller, a super processing chip, and the ability to play PC and Android games? I can't be the only one who thinks that can't be cheap. Better getting an Android Phone - at least you can call somebody with it. If the PC games are computer-type exclusive, that worsens your wallet's pain - you'd need to get a new computer and tis, which will probably land you somewhere in the $1000 zone.

With a non-unique game library, a possibly high price, and possible clunkiness, the SHIELD doesn't seem like it'll fair well. Doubly so since this is probably the first time most of you heard about it - while I don't watch TV much any more, this seems to be a very iPod-like device, and when was the last time you saw a commercial for an iPod? Or this? Of course, if NVIDIA manages to play the cards right, Nintendo could have another rival to worry about...but the SHIELD's situation is like in Yu-Gi-Oh, where your win or loss is all luck. And luck ain't the best thing to place a console's success on.

Final Fantasy: Dimensions review

Do you miss the days of old? Where you waited for a gauge to fill, then selected a command, which, after a while, was executed? Ye olde 16-bit graphicks?

Do you miss the days of old? Where you waited for a gauge to fill, then selected a command, which, after a while, was executed? Ye olde 16-bit graphicks? What about interchangeable classes, or those little green orbs that swirled around you when you summoned a powerful, magical being? If you do, then go to the iOS App Store and get Final Fantasy Dimensions nao.

Final Fantasy Dimensions, is, simply, a homage to the Final Fantasies of old. It has crystals which the world revolves around, job classes that aren't Dresspheres or Paradigms, and the Auto Time Battle system.

It's about two groups of four youths each, who, by chance (read: fate) met at the Crystal of Lux. From there, half of each group went to the other, and were dubbed the Warriors of Light (hey, didn't I tell you this was a homage to the old Final Fantasies?) and the Warriors of Darkness (remember that one group from Final Fantasy III? ...anybody?).

The base game is free. However, it only consists of the Prologue, where you only meet four of the Warriors. To get the rest of the game, you have to spend 20 bucks.

20 bucks.

For a game the length of a standard Final Fantasy.

Anyway, let's move on, shall we? To be specific, to the Auto Time Battle system. It acts like it does in Final Fantasy IV PSP: gauge fills up, you input a command, and there's an auto mode that quickens the battle flow and repeats what you did last if you have Memory on, and has your units attack if not. Charge time is also displayed in green, which is useful. The maximum amount of units you can have in a battle is five, also like Final Fantasy IV, but you don't need to do it 3 front/2 back or 2 front/3 back like it. Targeting is handled good: you can either tap who you'd like to target or use a list. Pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Okay, you've probably had enough of that. If you can truly appreciate Final Fantasy Dimensions, you know what the ATB system is. The question you want answered is "What did they do with jobs?" And I'll give you the answer.

At its base, the Job System is like it is in Final Fantasy V: you choose a job. You get any passive abilities the job has, and you have to wear what the job allows you to. You get AP after battles, and getting enough of it allows the job you currently have to level up.

Simple? Not for long. See, instead of only being able to equip one extra ability, you have ability slots. You get ability slots as your job levels up. You start with two.

"Cool!" you might say. "So I can equip Red Magic and Summon at the same time while I'm a [job that isn't Red Mage or Summoner]?" ...well, yes, but it's a bit more complicated then that. See, each ability takes up one or two slots. It varies upon the ability. From what I've seen so far, it appears the 'main' command of the job (i.e. why you're probably using the job in the first place, like !Black Magic and !Steal) requires two slots, while most (if not all) passive and other command abilities (like Counter and !Jump ((which is probably why you're using Dragoon))) require one.

In addition, each Job has only 3 levels initially. "Pfff," you may say. "Final Fantasy V had jobs that did that and it worked!" You're missing the point. Most physical-type jobs learn commands as they level up. In addition, you can't learn Black Magic Lv. 7 with only three job levels!

"So why is there only three job levels?" You may ask. There's not. You can increase the max JLV of a job by using JP. While used ala AP in FFT, it now takes one JP to increase the job you desire's max JLV by one.

"Ha, easy," you may say. "I can grind away all I want and get the JP and AP needed to get (insert ability you want here)!" Except not really. See, JP is mainly earned via story events, and only in groups of 4 or 5 per party member. So it'll be a while before you can use level 7 black magic in any job you want.

In addition, besides the base eight jobs (Warrior, Monk, Thief, Black Mage, White Mage, Red Mage, Summoner), the warriors have different jobs to choose from. For example, the Warriors of Light get Paladin, while the Warriors of Darkness get Dark Knight. Ironically, this means that the Bartz expy (of course there's a Bartz expy!) can't use Dual Wield+Spellblade+Rapid Fire (if you can at all...I vaguely remember there being a Ninja character, and the Warriors of Darkness get access to the Ranger job...) So, yeah, that's it.

:dizzy: Sound complicated? Well, it does in words. In the game itself, it's easier. So.

Anyway! This is a review, and you expect me to give this game a score, do you not? Very well! Ygro, drumroll please!

The score is...

8.75!

According to the Game Informer scale, that is.

This game is not for everyone. Or rather, it is not for everyone who plays roleplaying games. One does not play Final Fantasy Dimensions. One must ingest it, revel in the nostalgia that is FFD. Gamers who have played only Xbox and PlayStation would probably throw the game away in disgust, for faulty reasons such as "the graphics are RPGMaker-like/shitty/awful" or "there's not enough action" and such. True gamers, the ones that have played the original Final Fantasies, know that this game achieves in what it was sent out to do.

Or something like that anyway.

The problem is this: The DS version doesn't have it. At least, not as long, anyway.
This means one of two things:
1) Discs really don't work for handhelds or
2) The PSP has worse engine power (or whatever puts the graphics up) then the DS.

Which means it has worse engine power then the Wii.

I clicked the Favorites button that was assigned to it. The group didn't pop up. Instead, the groups list popped up.
No.
Ladies and gentlemen, as much as I didn't want it to happen, the Planetary Pit Stop is dead.

The backstory is quite simple, as least, as I can remember it. The Social Group Purge <s>this is one of the two good things FFXIII has done for me</s> is an event where the thousands - at least that much - of unnessicarry social groups were deleted, and some more rules regarding the social groups were put in place. If a group was to be deleted, it had to meet some criteria. There was only one that worried me, and even then, it was only a little worry. Later, however, jokool brought up a new list of criteria - and this one worried me. The third reason a group would be deleted (or Purged, if you prefer that term) was if it was a mini-forum-type thing.

The Pit Stop was a mini-forum-type thing. It had a place to vent, a place to discuss, a place to be random, a place to engage in combat, a place where special top-secret missions took place, a place where there was shipping, and other such stuff that I can't remember now.

Needless to say, there was freaking out. There was freaking out before the deadly criteria was put into place. A sister-type-group-thing was Purged just before, and the survivors fled to the Pit Stop.

I can't find any more to say about the incident, but I have to say this. Earlier, @jokool; a good friend of mine (at least, I think he is) said that this wasn't the end of the world. My reply to him was this.

Note - this reviewer did not finish the game. This is based purely upon the impressions the reviewer got after an hour or something into the game.

Also, any controls referenced are for the Xbox 360 version.

Final Fantasy - a popular game series. The seventh game in the series popularized Eastern RPGs in the West, if I'm remembering correctly. The games are liked by many. However, not all of the games are so good. Final Fantasy XIII is one of them.

We'll start with the good bits first: the battle system and paradigms. Mistakenly labeled as the ATB Battle System (at least, if I remember the tutorial correctly), it features the same basis: there's a gauge that fills up over time. When it fills, you can execute actions. However, it also gets a bit more complicated: there's segments of the ATB gauge that can be expended for attacks. You can combo the attacks together. If, say, you had 3 ATB Segments, you could chain 3 skills that had an ATB Cost of 1, or one skill that had an ATB cost of 2 and one that had a cost of 1. (At least, theroetically.) There's nothing stopping you from filling your action list with commands that's total ATB Cost exceeds the amount of ATB Segments currently filled (but not total); you'd just have to wait for the ATB Gauge to fill to full, or press Y to get rid of any attacks that exceeded the current amount, which would cause your attacks to execute instantly.

However, there's one thing that I don't like about this system: the Auto-Battle mode. You might remember something with the name from the PSP releases of Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy III. However, instead of repeating your last commands (there -is- an option for that, however), it instead automatically chooses what it deems the best of your commands for the situation, like your AI companions. You could literally win the game just by pressing A and switching paradigms when needed.

Anyway, let's move onto the next part of the game: paradigms. They're a set of three "classes" that you can switch into during battle by pressing LB. Each character has a different classes they can access: for example, Lightning can't access Sentinel and Medic (at the start, at least). This affects what paradigms you can use. The only downside is is that the battle is still going on while you choose which paradigm you're going to switch into.

Now, for the bad bits: to start, FFXIII is linear. Extremely linear. The paths are really almost straight lines. Let me paint a mental picture for you, comparing it to Final Fantasy I: Final Fantasy I is a corridor. After walking through the corridor for a while, you reach four branching paths. These are what you can do after you beat the Lich: relight the Fire, Water, and Air Crystals, or get the class upgrade. You can always go back down the corridor to train, and when you get to the end of one of the paths, you're dumped back where you started, just more trained, and can go back down the path to train, or go to a new one.

Final Fantasy XIII is a corridor where one end is slowly closing in on you. There are no seperate paths.

There's also a few other problems with the game: one, there's a crap load of cutscenes. Two, in combat, if your party leader dies, it's a Game Over. You can't switch to a new one. You can't even use one of the Phoenix Downs in your inventory. It's Game Over. Thankfully, there's a retry option, but still.

And third, there's the crystanium or whatever. This takes the place of standard levels in FFXIII, a la the Sphere Grid. Unlike the Sphere Grid, however, it unlocks the more you get into the story.

This is bad. Not that it would matter; the encounters aren't random, so you couldn't really grind it as easily. However, this means that you can't get a needed boost if you're stuck on a boss.

If you're choosing between an Xbox 360 or a Wii U, and this is the only reason you'd get an Xbox: get the Wii U.

Score: I'd say a 5.5, according to the Game Informer scale.

So, some of you heard that I was making a game. If you didn't, now you know. In case you were curious, here's an update on the game right now.

The basic plot is that there's an emperor trying to rule the world. He starts by destroying the only town on the island he rules. <s>Okay, I guess he's not much of an emperor then.</s> Four young'uns decide to get back at the emperor for destroying their town by killing him. They are joined by the emperor's daughter, who is angry at her father for trying to kill a town for no reason.

Yeah, it's not great, but it's better than the plot of the Super Mario games, right? ...right?

So, um, yeah. The four youths who had their town destroyed are:

Neo! (Name suggestions appreciated, first attachment.) Stat-wise (as that's all there is to talk about him), he's best as a Warrior or Thief, with high HP, Power, and Stamina scores and growth, but low MP, Skill, and Intelligence scores and growth. He might actually be a good mage.[/s]I actually have no idea what any of those do besides power. I just guessed that Skill and Intelligence had something to do with magick casting.[/s] He's also the only one who has a different look across his classes - he boasts a red jacket and headband along with a bow and arrow as a thief. Bows and arrows may or may not be an actual weapon.

Cronux! (Again, name suggestions are appreciated, second attachment.) He actually is decent stat-wise as anything, but sucks as a mage due his shoddy MP pool (1 with a growth rate of 50%). This is basically making him be a Monk or a Warrior. And why wouldn't he be a Monk over a Warrior? He looks the part <s>other than a smiley face on his shirt</s>. Monks also carry over two skills from Final Fantasy Tactics: Aurablast and Chakra. (More -may- come.)
Bad glitch: Cronux can't move next to a unit without the game crashing. At least, last time I checked, he couldn't.
Fun fact: Cronux's classes are the only classes that have been modified (beyond the field sprite): all of his stat gains from the job are the same. This is to keep in line with his jack-of-all-stats-except-MP gimmick.

Concessa (no, and third attachment) is a woman who can play any class effectively, be it a mage or a warrior. Naturally, she makes the best mage. Fun fact: on the field, all of the girls suffer an identity crisis. I.E., they all use the same map sprite. This is because I couldn't find a field sprite for the next girl, and couldn't find a matching battle sprite for the princess. The battle sprites have to be with the proper field sprites.
This is mentioned under Concessa because she's the one the talking sprite matches up with.

Lynn (hell no, last attachment) is a girl who plays the mage field effectively, with a buttload of MP (base 5 with a 110% growth, possibly lower if it ends up being game breaking), if nothing else (i.e. the Intelligence stat is bugged like in Final Fantasy I and the Skill stat isn't used for magick).

You might be wondering why Lynn, the magickal girl, has such a low MP pool. It's because of the way the magick (yes, it's with a k, like in Final Fantasy XII and Tactics A2 and War of the Lions and such) works: each spell has a level. It works like Final Fantasy II: the spell's MP cost is equal to its level. Ex.: a level 1 spell costs 1 MP. A level 6 spell costs 6 MP. Summon spells (used by 1 (one) character) don't have levels and just cost a buttload of MP, summon-style. Don't worry, though, he has the MP to make it work.

Also, you might be wondering why I mentioned different classes. You may be all like "Marche! This is a tactical RPG! The characters are supposed to be locked into one class type, so Neo/Cronux would have to be a warrior and his MP stat is useless!" And you will forget about Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy Tactics A2 because they're awesome and you will forget about Final Fantasy Tactics Advance because it sucks. The thing is that classes will work like Final Fantasy I: you will choose a class at the beginning of the game, and be locked into it until you see a dragon that will change your class. The difference is that you will change based on your will. So if you decide to upgrade Neo into a Ninja instead of a Knight, go ahead. You can't upgrade everyone into Ninjas, though. It would make them all suck.

This feature also makes it possible to be masochistic and make Neo a White Mage.

Anything else...? Oh yeah, the map functions like it was a real world: to get to your next destination, you have to go on the edge of the map. Then you go to your next battlefield. I recommend beating the shit out of all of the enemies first. But not your allies (if indeed such a thing is possible, and it may just be). That would be stupid <s>even though they revive at the next map</s>.

Also, there's plenty of Final Fantasy references. The name (Final Fantasy Tactics PC) and the spell names (Litaga/ara, Icera/Icega, and the more familiar Fire/Fira/Firaga) are one. (If you want it to be the standard names, let me know.)

Will there be Garland? Of course there'll be Garland. He's actually going to be competent, however. Especially because I'll just copypasta his FFI stats. It'll work. You may die and regret you didn't spend enough time killing mooks/spreading the levels around.

Also, gunblades. You upgrade them from regular swords. More of a FFXIII reference than FVIII because they also function as guns...while looking like swords/fists. Hrm.

Finally: upgraded summons: yes or no?

Hello! This is Lief, and currently, I'm redoing my Red Mage Challenge in Final Fantasy I. So let's begin...
A beautiful Red Mage, Neo, is born!
Mort, Draco, and Ghestis are soon spawn into the world.
Think of the irony...

After being thrust outside of Cornelia for some reason, Neo returns inside, only to be greeted by three hyperactive Black Mages. Who want to guard him.
To prove their worth, they must slay 10 Imps without any assistance from Neo.
Who then pigs out on the magic and weaponry.

Notice a problem?

No! Mort! You shall be missed. ;_;
Dear Mort's family,
I regret to inform you that your husband/child/brother has been slain in combat. I wanted to kill the others as fast as possible, but alas, I could not enforce any restrictions upon them without them also applying to Mort, and the imps today seemed to, unnaturally, be after him. I shall finish my quest without him, and revive him as soon as possible afterwards, for the reviver hates me.
Sincerest of apologies,
Neo McMagica

Reconfiguring his position to kill the bastards as soon as possible, Neo engages into combat with the wives of the imps the Black Mages killed earlier.

Well, they engaged with him, to be more precise: Draco and Ghestis didn't even get to act. Neo finished off the imps with no trouble, gained a level (increasing Vitality, something else, and the useless stat Intelligence along with Strength and HP), and did an extra victory dance as the bastards were dead.

Next time, he engages with Garland!

Current stats:

Hello people! Today we're looking at some weird ideas about games. Like, really weird. As in, Pac-Man is actually about life weird. Well, okay, that and the fact that Aerith is, apparently, evil.

No, really. This site says so. It must be true. I mean, it doesn't have any connection to Square Enix, but it HAS to be true!

So let's see why it's not.

But what if she planned it for other motives? What if that pure heart and playful soul we've all come to love were something far less pure and noble, something far darker?

What, you mean she's trying to go to Heaven/Hell and take it over? Silly person, Heaven and Hell doesn't exist in Final Fantasy VII!
<s>okay I really just did this one for fun moving on</s>

Then we realize that she has quickly passed over her concern for Cloud, and jumped right in to small talk. He just fell from the plate above and crashed through the roof, and she isn't even all that concerned, not even a panicked reaction. Just a simple "Oh, the flowers must have cushioned you. They're resilient," bit we're all familiar with.

This is called explaining why Cloud isn't dead. Besides, she HAD no worry for concern. She knew that the flowers cushioned Cloud's fall.

No sooner does he enter than she asks you to be her bodyguard. Fair and normal, save for the price. One date. A date, in exchange for a little work. Immediately, one can start to question her innocence and motive. More so once she reveals she's escaped the Turks before, that she's used to it. So what was different now? Why did she need Cloud's help? After all, she had, as her mother confirmed to us, been evading the TURKS with some skill her whole life in Midgar.

Um, maybe it's because she can't hit for crap <s>that's kind of a lie</s>, doesn't have any working Materia, and fears that just dodging them won't work forever?

Assume for a moment that everything you know about Aeris is completely false.

What I know about Aerith is that she has the best Limit in the game. So no.

Jenova would not let Cloud just get away once she had an opportunity like the one with Reno, and so it would be nothing for her to offer a date to Cloud, anything to stay close to him.

Or, or! Aerith thinks Cloud is hot/cool, hopes that he think she's cute, and thus, the date. Besides, it's not like she had two gil to rub together.

She didn't even have the heart to suggest letting her mother know what was happening, or that she was leaving. She simply left, under the guise of learning more about the Cetra.

Or, or! She figured that her mother wouldn't let her go. Thus, she teleports (somehow) to where Cloud was leaving and hitches a ride. Or something. I dunno.

Jenova, at this point, would have two major reasons to stick with the party. The first would be to weaken it, which Aeris arguably does.

I find it hard to weaken a party when you have a Limit that heals 50% of the party's health for no MP cost.

The second would be to stay close to Cloud, and tear his mind further and further apart.

Quoted because this COULD make sense, but it's not true. Why? Nothing else is.

Cloud and Aeris both knew in Wall Market that Cloud could've burst into Don Corneo's place and saved Tifa, as well as cornered the Don and gotten the information needed. It wouldn't have been any trouble for someone with Cloud's power, but Jenova had her first opportunity to torment Cloud.

Or, or! They were being careful. They didn't know what waited inside, or if Don Cornero had Materia that could screw them over. Or even if the guy keeping guys out had a few tricks up his sleeve.

Aeris now has two of AVALANCHE's most prominent members under her thumb.

If you read the article, you'll be wondering how too. Maybe.

If she had gone back up, she would have only served to distract Cloud and possibly have him killed by Rufus.

But someone like Cloud could easily regain focus! I'm serious, though. Random encounters come up out of the wazoo all of the time, and most of the time, they aren't caught off guard.

After witnessing everything transpiring between them for the whole game, it's unlikely anything yet needed saying that she couldn't have said earlier or later.

She could've, y'know, forgotten.

Let's move on to Junon. By now, anyone paying attention with the above in mind can see that something is up with our flower girl. As soon as you reach the ship and speak to her, she'll ask Cloud to take her on the Highwind someday. Odds are, if you're a nice and friendly person, you selected to take her on it. This will come back to haunt Cloud later in the game when he remembers the promise. It could be seen as an early drive at his sanity that ultimately dug deeper after her death later in the game.

Aerith didn't know she was going to die. <s>Or maybe she did. We don't know.</s> Easy. Of course, if she DID know she was gonna die, it would've been different. But we don't know. So there.

What about the Temple of the Ancients scenario? You go in, there is Tseng. Tseng is hurt. Aeris, amazingly, is a healer with the only truly useful healing limits in the game. She is upset at Tseng's misfortune so she...does nothing, and you move on. Sure, he winds up living, but she likely didn't know this. So she just left him for dead.

Lady, I'm afraid you don't know how Limits and programming work. They couldn't be sure that Aerith's Limit gauge was full. They couldn't be sure whether she was on a Limit Level that HAD a healing Limit. They couldn't even be sure if she had a Cure Materia on her. Thus, they let him die because of all of these variables.

Then the Ancients themselves...a lost race of people, now mere spirits, who have supposedly lost the ability to speak with the passing of time. So Aeris claims. Could it be that they were simply talking in an ancient language, and that she, overwhelmed by Jenova and unable to understand, simply failed to translate? She does have Cetra blood in her, but it's not overwhelmingly strong. Jenova would have had to use some excuse for failing to communicate. We do know that Ancients can talk after time has passed.

She doesn't know the language. I'm part Italian, and I couldn't speak Italian if my life depended on it.

Besides, if blood DID equal knowing the language, it could've been diminished by the human blood. :1

...wait, didn't she know when her foster mother's husband died?

Then the infamous scenes that preclude the end. Sephiroth takes control of Cloud outside the hole where the temple once was, and uses him to launch an assault on Aeris. But did he? Or did Aeris do it herself?

Well, seeing as a) Aerith has no control over Cloud, even if she did have Jenova cells and b) she wouldn't just kill herself for no reason, I'd say it was Sepiroth.

The next thing we see is the dream sequence, where Aeris clues Cloud in on her whereabouts, and Sephiroth clues him in on her impending doom....If you recall meeting Sephiroth later in the Northern Crater, he has no knowledge of Cloud whatsoever, he doesn't even seem to recognize him in the least. The only logical conclusion is that Aeris, Jenova, planted the whole dream in Cloud's head.

Or, or! Cloud was being delusional.

Or Sepiroth was lying. I don't know, I didn't see the scene. Yet.
EDIT: I have seen the scene now, and now I know Sepiroth was lying. Or it didn't happen. He -saw- Cloud by the time of Northern Crater.

Of course, none of them notice that there is no blood on Sephiroth's sword. Some say this was for ratings, but I say not. Blood is clearly visible on the defeated Sephiroth at the end, as well as smeared all over the Shinra Building after breaking out of jail. This is not an issue. Nor is it the sword's natural tendency to avoid blood. Pay attention in Advent Children when Sephiroth stabs Cloud. Cloud pulls the sword out and, lo and behold, there's blood on the end. This all suggests that Aeris ultimately lost any humanity she had during the trip, becoming consumed entirely by Jenova after it was awakened in her by Cloud, and so she is unlikely to have any human blood left to shed.

She'd still have blood. :1

Besides, if you look at it from a development standpoint, it would've required a LOT of effort to add the blood. They would've had to make a new model (for either Sepiroth (if the Masamune was part of his model) or just the Masamune (if it isn't), and then they would've had to figure out a way to switch the models in the middle of a cutscene. It's easily glanced over. Solution? No blood.

Of course, someone is bound to ask about the white materia, and holy, and all that. Who, if not Aeris, could've possibly activated it? Bugenhagen and the image at the Ancient Capital suggest that it was, indeed, activated. But we only know vague hints about how Holy was used before. The glowing green materia could've simply been an act of light shining on the white surface through the water, with the slight coloration of the water giving it the glow.

Why wouldn't it be?

If Holy were truly activated, what took it so long to spring in to action after Sephiroth was defeated and it's bonds removed? Why did it only serve to urge Meteor onward when it should've been helping the planet? This itself was not Holy, and was likely called on itself by the party in their desperate hour of need. Without the full activated power of the white materia and the planet, it would be weak. Then the Life Stream, the planet's own force, interfered to save the day.

Wait, huh? Holy wouldn't speed up the Meteor, then save the planet from it...

It's also possible this white force was the released spirits of Sephiroth

This is an explanation.

and/or Jenova/Aeris, taking their chance to destroy the planet while letting everyone else think it was Holy

This is not. At least, the Aerith part isn't.

This would be a perfect way to explain how Jenova entered the life stream and corrupted the lives of so many with the geostigma. With the Lifestream floating over the land and cities, she could've dispersed and simply drifted down into unassuming lives.

This is how it happened. Except Aerith didn't do it. Sepiroth did.

First is Aeris' vision to Cloud. Her timing is the first thing noticeably odd. She appears just when Cloud doesn't need her to, right before he would be fighting Kadaj and the others. While he is on a motorcycle zooming through a forest, no less. She has him distracted, while the others, listening to their mother, take aim and fire. Cloud barely registers this in time to avoid being targeted. Why does it seem Aeris always has something to say to Cloud at times when it would get him killed? This seems to be a pattern with her.

Quoting because this is honestly the only thing on the page that makes me think that Aerith could be evil. Well, and that other part.

But again, everything else goes against it.

Second, the identity of 'Mother.' We know from the very start that Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo are searching for their mother, and we get a very strong hint that the identity is Jenova, even before being told explicitly so. As they can hear her in their heads, even if they can't find her, it can safely be deduced that they know what her voice would sound like. So how on Earth could Kadaj have mistaken Aeris for Jenova at the end?

Backstory for this:

Can it be a mere coincidence that, after everything is said and done, Jenova sounds identical to Aeris?

Yes.

So why help Cloud at all in Advent Children? Simplest reasoning is...she didn't. Her healing waters seemed to injure Kadaj slightly, but only forced him away, and she removed Cloud's geostigma. How does this help Jenova and Sephiroth? Without the geostigma, Cloud would be able to best Kadaj in combat (He was outmatched himself before this), and thus force Kadaj to consume Jenova's cells, completing the revival of Sephiroth.

There's this thing. It's called not knowing the consequences of your actions. It happens to many people every day. Being dead does not remove that limitation.

Something must also be said for the healing rain that pours over Midgar, washing away the geostigma of the infected there. Why would Jenova just give in and dissolve herself so readily?

She wouldn't. The healing rain goes and kills Jenova. That's it.

A further mystery is why both Zack and Aeris are separate from the Lifestream. Both had returned to it some time ago, and had no reason to still be kicking around. The answer is simple: Jenova. For Zack, this is easily explained. He was in SOLDIER, so he would have been infused with Jenova cells.

Sepiroth was infused with Jenova cells even more and he got in. [/quote] So what about Aeris? Not so simple if she was an innocent little Cetra.[/quote]It's like a near-death experience. You see it all the time: guy (spiky hair is optional) gets pushed to his limits and is almost dead. Already dead people appear, and urge them on, renewing their fighting spirit.

Also, ghosts.

So HA.

Anyway, all of you are probably tired of this rant, so I'll just link you to the Pac-Man article and give a few sentences on why it's wrong:

[link]

1. It's a game. Those are the mechanics. They were trying to make it interesting. JEEZ.

2. For the never winning: A good chunk of arcade games don't allow you to win. All you get is the possible satisfaction of beating your high score, or getting further then you were before.

3. For the last part, about level 256: It's a glitch and they recognize it. Pretty sure it doesn't give a lesson on life if it wasn't supposed to exist.

Tips for Mimes and other stuff - Final Fantasy Tactics

Disclaimer:
This is to assist people who have decided to try the Mime job in Final Fantasy Tactics. This will not promise success with the Mime job. But if you want good stat growth and the ability to up your Magick Attack (the Mime job is the only regular job that gives boosts to the Magick Attack stat, all others just boost it while you're using the job). So fans of using Cloud Strife, pay attention.
Notes:
Whatever the hell you do, only use one Mime at a time. Using more will make it even worse, and having a team of only mimes will cause chaos. In other words, you'll be slaughtered. Unlike in Final Fantasy V.
Oh yeah, and it's best if you only choose Mime as your job when you're close to leveling up (90 or up is preferable). Because really, do you WANT to be stuck with using one for each level up? Plus, it takes JP from the character's main job.
EDIT: Oh yeah! I almost forgot! Mimes -also- can only copy abilities that any unit can do. And Squire abilities. (The regular kind, not Ramza's version. But they may be able to copy the standard Squire abilities Ramza has.)
The Mime job also has three innate abilities: Brawler (increased damage if you use your fists), Concentration (nulls evade rates), and Beastmaster (monster units next to the Mime will gain an ability).
Anyway, now let's do this.
-----------------
For those of you who don't know, the Mime is a job class from Final Fantasy Tactics. If you don't know what that is, leave, get a PSP or Vita, then either purchase it from something like Amazon, GameStop, or the PS Store.
To unlock the job, you must become level 8 in Squire or Chemist (I recommend doing the opposite of what I suggested for leveling as a Mime, fighting -until- you get near leveling up for the Chemist, as they have crappy stat growth), and Level 5 as a Summoner, Orator, Geomancer, and Dragoon.
There are two ways to go about this: one, have your whole team do actions that would let the mime hit stuff. Two, fill your team with Arithmeticians (Level 5 B. Mage and W. Mage, Level 4 T. Mage and Mystic) and then let Arithmeticks fly. Three, have ONE character do Arithmeticks and then have the Mime copy that. The third option is the best, as it allows you to deal twice the damage that you normally would with one skill, while allowing you to keep your strategy as normal. The second option mainly lacks in the fact that you'd have to do a lot of work. And Arithmeticians are slow. Very slow.
Keep in mind that all of your characters -should- be facing in the same direction for the first one, in order to lessen the complication of attacks. The Mime does the actions in the direction it's facing. For example, say Ramza was a Black Mage and Cloud was a Mime, facing to the right. If Ramza cast Fire one square to the up and to the right, Cloud use Fire on the square that's one up and right to -him-.
EDIT: Also, note that Mimes work -great- with Dancers and Bards. They'll increase the amount of singing and dancing.
-------------------
Anyway, after all that, here's some extra tips to help you 'long the way:

To unlock Dark Knight for multiple characters, an easy way to learn the Black Magicks is to hit Black Mages with the -ja tier skills, letting you possibly learn the -ja level spell, saving you 2100 JP. Dark Knights are unlocked by mastering (learning all abilities) the Black Mage and Knight jobs, and going to Level 8 (-not- mastering) in Geomancer, Dragoon, Samurai, and jobs. The hard work -will- pay off.

A neat set-up is a unit with 97 Brave points, Mana Shield, and Manafont. 1 MP will shield all of your HP, so as long as you keep moving, the unit will be kinda invincible.

Brawler for Reis is a must. Or -maybe- an Equip Weapon ability.

There are two good support abilities for Cloud: Quickness, which cuts down the Charge Time needed for his Limits (Time Mage, 1000 JP) or Dual Wield to equip Cloud with another sword, allowing more damage with his physicals (and -maybe- increasing his Magick Attack)(Ninja, 1000 JP). Becoming a ninja does -not- let you use both, because you'd have to use the Support ability slot for Equip Swords!

Don't be fooled by what Tactics Advance may have taught you: Luso (Game Hunter) can hit Ramza (Squire) with Ultima to learn it. They -must- be the jobs in parentheses. -MUST-.

Using Treasure Hunter effectively requires you to have low Brave. Using Reaction Abilities requires high Brave. The exception? Two of them: Reflexes (doubles evade rate of unit, Ninja, 400 JP) and Parry (adds the weapon's block rate into the evade equation, Knight, 200 JP). The Samurai's ability Shirahadori also adds the Bravery as an evade rate for physical attacks, so that may be -slighty- useful if you have no good blocking weapons (Defender, Main Gauche, and the Dancer's cloths are awesome) or prefer to use what would add an evade rate for another item that doesn't.

Geomancy skills are -great- for activating Critical skills, but the only you'd probably want to couple with it is Critical: Restore HP.

So there you have it. Some useful tips for Final Fantasy Tactics (the last one was more for War of the Lions, but eh). Keep in mind: the JP costs are different if you're American and playing the PSX version (they pulled Easytype on us! D:). Anyway, this was Lief, telling you what you may have already known. See ya!
