Grass Type Trainer

Yay more lists!!!! I'm back and I'm making lists again. Why? Because I'm in the mood to blog but I have no better ideas.

As usual whole families are grouped together unless otherwise stated and Legendary Pokemon are ineligible.

Anyway, without further ado, here goes:

Ice

Ice types kind of suck, and do you know who we have to blame for that? Water types, that's who. Ice is a fantastic offensive type but a terrible defensive one. This wouldn't be a problem if every Water type and their mother didn't learn Ice type moves. Since Water is no slouch either offensively or defensively, they can perform the Ice type Pokemon's roles better than Ice type Pokemon. Hence why they've fallen into disuse. About the only niche they currently have is Hail (y'know, the decidedly worst weather of all with the decidedly worst inducer of all.) Still, there are some really awesome Ice types out there. These are my favorites.

Really, is anyone surprised that I'd pick the Grass type for my top spot? Didn't think so. I don't even care that it's got seven weaknesses and mediocre stats, Abomasnow just looks too cool to pass up. Plus yeti. Yeti's always a valid argument.

Steel

Steel was introduced in Generation II alongside Dark, and while Dark has made a pretty decent impact on the game as a whole, Steel has taken the metagame by storm. It is decidedly the best defensive type in the game and by far one of the best types in general. Personally, I don't know whether I like Steel types or Dark types better, as they both have their fair share of awesome Pokemon. However, I really wouldn't mind if Game Freak decided to nerf the Steel types a little. Here are my top five favorite Steel types of all time.

Aha! For once the Grass type doesn't top the list. Though to be honest the only reason Ferrothorn isn't in the top spot is because Scizor is Scizor, and therefore too badass to take anything but first place. Not only does it look like a complete boss, it's also one of the most threatening Pokemon in all of OU. Scizor is a Pokemon that deserves nothing but the top.

Electric

I always wished I liked Electric types more than I do, but frankly they're just not a type that stands out to me very much. Perhaps it's because they're very archetypal as a whole? I dunno. All I know is that with a few exceptions, most Electric type Pokemon are exactly what you'd expect from a lightning based type. Still, there are some really cool designs that I just cannot ignore. These are my top five Electric types.

This could have easily been a tie with Manectric, but I had to pick just one, and Luxray does look ever so slightly more badass than Manectric, so here we are. Actually, Luxray is my second favorite Electric type, but since my favorite is Raikou and I don't like to group Legendaries and regular Pokemon together, it was ineligible. Thus Luxray takes the top spot on the Electric list. I gotta say, this Pokemon's not as bad as you'd think. It has a pretty good physical movepool now in Generation V. It's still not top tier, but it's certainly improved some. I wonder how much better it would be if it got Flare Blitz.

So there you have it, my top five Steel, Ice and Electric type Pokemon.
