Complete MagnemiteDex

Rate this Entry

So yeah, this is is a PokéProject I've been working on on and off since I got BW2. As you can see, I have a Magnemite dex entry for each language.

It started off with the Magnemite Coil. I ended up getting 4/6 languages without trying, so I thought why not go for the other 2 (Spanish and Korean). Had trouble for ages finding Spanish and at the time the games hadn't been released in South Korea so it was hard to find Korean Magnemite. I got my shops up to my desired level in Join Avenue, so I lost interest in coiling for a while.

A month or so ago I came back and tried again, by this time the Coil had dried up a lot so it was hard to find Magnemite. I looked for Magnemite in South Korea, found no reasonable trades. Started looking for Magnemite in Spanish speaking countries and then found a Korean Magnemite in Mexico (lol). Started looking around Spanish speaking countries for Magnemite, but this was a bit pointless because Coil Spanish magnemite are not likely to be in their country of origin - and non-coil ones are likely to ask for level9 Zekroms/level100 Deoxys (you know how the gts is).

I tried again today, found a Spanish player offering a magnemite for a nicada. Not only was the trade reasonable, the OT/offer ID was the same so I could be confident that the magnemite was spanish - and it was, woohoo.

It's hard to see from the picture, but the the magnemite in the entry is shiny. At some point in this quest I decided to learn to RNG abuse. I chose to abuse magnemite to get the hang of shiny PID abusing because I knew that if I wanted to truely have a complete MagnemiteDex I'd need a shiny entry too.

So, would "completing the Dex" mean doing this for every pokemon? Luckily Magnemite is genderless. If it were gendered I'd need a male and female magnemite in the dex, both shiny (even if the there's no visible gender difference between the pokemon, the dex still counts male/female as different forms, along with shiny versions of both). They're some impossible shinies, and Unova Pokémon don't get foreign dex entries (not even in BW2), so that makes things slightly easier when trying to truely complete the dex. Anyone up for the challenge?

You should try the Unown dex for language and forms (though all shinies might be overboard) before trying the rest. See if you /really/ wanna go down that road. It's a trip, for sure, and wrought with frustration beyond belief.

I already have all the Unown forms. You only need one form from each language to get all the dex entries. There isn't a different entry for each language, so it wouldn't be too hard (though I cba with it). Shinies might be a bit overboard, but you gotta catch em all right? ;)

It's certainly a cool Pokémon, not sure if I'd say it was one of my favourites. This thing started primarily because I got 4/6 entries just by coiling.
