We all know Miley Cyrus, right? She's annoyingly popular, has huge buckteeth, and just starred in a motion picture. she also insulted one of the greatest works of fiction of our time:

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, often abbreviated to simply Alice in Wonderland. Lil' old Miley, lookin' for some more media attention, has called it "perverted." She claims that the story is based upon drugs.

Uh-huh. Alice was actually created as a story for Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who published the Alice books under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll, to entertain the children of a friend of his. The main character, Alice, was based on Alice Liddel, one of the girls.

it infuriates me that Miley Cyrus flat-out insulted a fine piece of literature, one that, may I add, was made into a DISNEY film directed by WALT DISNEY himself. This seems outrageous, especially when you facto in that Miley Cyrus, not only a singer/songwriters (technically TWO singer/songwriters) is a DISNEY CHANNEL STAR. She's 16. What the hell does she know about what Carroll did or did not intend for Alice to be based on. We know that Alice began as a story told to a family because records of this exist. Having enjoyed Carroll's books for several years, i find Miley's comments offensive and rude, and I daresay i won't be tuning in to anything of HERS anymore. Till next time,

    While I find it great that you're turning your back on Disney's cashcow (emphasis on cow), I feel I must inform you of some details of Alice in Wonderland that might make people think that way. Alice was eating "mushrooms" and "cookies" to make herself bigger or smaller. There's a caterpillar smoking a "hookah" which usually involves marijuana. I personally think the story's goal was to prevent kids from doing drugs because of all the trippy things you hallucinate.

    It's actually a somewhat popular theory, though he did not mean the book to be like that. I had a sub that believed that it was talking about the 1st World War.

    But yeah, Miley is an idiot.

    True the theory is very popular. The book seems to reference it too. Nevertheless 'tis a great piece if literature and Milez should have kept her mouth shut.

    I agree Alice in Wonderland was a classic, but I can see how some would think its about taking drugs, if you want to look at it that way.

    Some people think that the song "Puff the magic dragon" by Peter, Paul and Mary is about smoking pot or something and "The magic dragon" was the drug that was being smoked and when "Jackie Paper came no more and Puff the magic dragon, ceased his fearless roar" the person smoking the drugs died, but it was actually about a magic dragon called "Puff"

    just another similar way on how you can think something is not what it is.
