finally posted a blog entry, because... uh, I don't really have anything better to do and can't put this on dA but want some feedback.



didn't draw it, but I colored it.
haha lazy background is horribly lazy.
and if you think it's a girl, IT'S A TRAP!

first thing to note: my monitor, when set to the brightest option, is slightly darker than most monitors. so if it looks too light, that's why.

I like critique, but knowing that 80% of Bulbagarden probably doesn't know how to give it, just tell me what's wrong with the coloring and I'll figure out what the problem is for future reference.
if you tell me something about the anatomy, well... you must not have read the part where I said I didn't draw it, so here I am saying that again so no one feels stupid. I know he looks like he only eats one peanut every week, but that's not the point here.

then again, I might not get any comments at all, which might wind up to be a good thing... well, whether I do or not is up to those who wind up looking at it/reading this, isn't it?
I don't know, I've just never made an entry here before, so idk if anyone's going to care. but I'm not going to worry about that. I'm just going to hit submit.

    Hm... If you didn't draw the picture, who is the character? It resembles Neko from TWEWY.

    As you said, the background is lazy. The character evokes controlled chaos, and the colors evoke something bright in a dark place. The background would have been better being monotone in my opinion.

    I'm not sure what you were trying to do with green (Whatever color it is) and orange together. It looks distinct, and unique, but the colors don't seem to match in the way you presented them in.

    The shading is really great. Combined with the eye placement and the direction of the shadows, I can see a real focus in the piece.

    I'm not an artist, so I'm not sure that I can go much beyond that, but I think it's great as a whole. Keep it up. :)

    As for a critque, the color of the hair matches very well with the skin color (IMO), and maybe it's just me but I picture him laying on a bed, so the background is off IMO.

    "background" you mean. you are right, but The World doesn't exactly have beds... so I decided "grass" would be fine. he may as well just sleep in a field if he's going to sleep. if that's even possible? I dunno, I looked at his 3d model really close and from what little you can see of his eyes they like, don't blink. I don't even know if he can close his eyes, nor do I remember if any .hack characters blink in G.U. lol.
    and well, you're kinda right, it's Kite but it's Azure Kite. the AI from .hack//G.U.
    I would think people would recognize him as the guy in my profile pic/avatar due to the cheek things... probably should've said something. haha.

    nope, the colors don't match at all (green and orange is a horrible color combo, haha) but it's a fanart so it's not really something I can change and still have it be entirely accurate. maybe a more faded green would look better, but then again I didn't directly take the colors from his official art so I'm not sure if what I used is that close or not. I'd have to like, compare my colors and the official colors right next to each other to figure that out...
    monotone? like just one color and not two similar colors? you are probably right with that... haha, critique is so awesome. *__*
