The Death of Boston Sports...

Well, it was a rough weekend for Boston sports fans. The Bruins were knocked out of the playoffs in an overtime game seven. The Red Sox lost two of three to Seattle (really? Seattle?). And the most crushing loss of all... The Celtics got dismantled by the Orlando Magic in game seven at home.
Basically, the Celtics simply ran out of energy. At this point in the playoffs, 5 of the top 6 players in terms of minutes played were the Celtics starting five. Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce have played in excess of forty minutes every single game of the postseason. Pierce has played 201 games since the beginning of last season, Ray Allen has played 190, and Rondo has played 185. The injuries that took the seasons of Kevin Garnett and Leon Powe forced coach Doc Rivers to play Brian Scalabrine, who was the 12th man last year, in key fourth quarter situations.
Now, I'm hoping for a Lebron vs Kobe NBA finals, which should be interesting television anyways...
