Four huge things

I'm going to tell you about four huge things that happened that are more important than the presidential election.

1) Colorado and Washington state both voted for legalization of marijuana. That's recreational, not just medical (though it will still of course be legal for medical use). This is a huge step in the right direction.

2) Maryland, Maine and Washington state voted to legalize gay marriage, bringing the number of states where two people of the same gender who are in love can have their marraiges recognized by the state up to 10.

3) Puerto Rico is now a state, pending congressional approval. Puerto Rican voters voted 65% in favor of statehood, and both candidates said they would support statehood if that's what the people wanted.

4) I finally checkmated the computer on level 6! Here is a screenshot:

And unfortunately it's unlikely to stand for very long since the criminalization of marijuana is at the federal level.

Medical marijuana has stood despite Obama's dispensary raids, and legalization stood in Denver. All the federal government can do is DEA raids, and all that's going to do is drop their popularity and put pressure on the federal government to back off.

Massachusetts legalized medical marijuana as well.

Time to come down with a case of glaucoma.

That's one proposal but the asymmetry of the starts irks me. I prefer the one that has the stars in a circle.

It is symmetrical. You want 51 stars in a circle?

Asymmetry was the wrong word. try uneven-ness.

I've heard nothing about Peurto Rico pending to be a state. Nobody brought it to my attention until you did just now. You'd think people would be talking about that.

    Well it's far from finished.

But they had a vote in PR and they voted with a majority to pursue statehood. Obama (and Romney) had pledged to support PR statehood if they wished to pursue it. So while it's far from settled (there needs to be votes in Congress and other things need to happen as well), it's definitely a major story that's going to develop in the coming months.

Oh my gosh, that's wonderful! ;w; I'm super happy that they're allowing that, seriously; it's exactly what they should be doing! <3
