T'was fun. Really shows how first impressions are important. Not that anyone seems to care about first impressions, mind.

I saw this on QI once. They also had something else that was pretty similar:

In the Huambisa language of South America, 98% of people who didn't speak it, when hearing the words "chunchuikit" and "mauts", and asked which was a bird, and which was a fish, thought that "chunchuikit" was a bird and "mauts" was a fish.

And "Oxymoron" literally means sharp-blunt.

"Kiki" has a sharp sound hence why it fits the first shape. And "Bouba" sounds fat (?) I guess.

I said the opposite, because I thought people would say the one on the right is "bouba" because it's got those round lumps to it and kind of is close to "booba".

Yes but I did it for the round reasons. Sounds vs. the breasteses etc.

Did they ever switch the order of the images when doing this? One would expect to map the first word you read to the first image you see regardless of characteristic. This has the potential to skew the entire experiment's results.

Still, the implications are neat.
