  1. Why Our Society is Screwed: March 27 Edition

by , 27th March 2009 at 01:33 AM (The Golden Phoenix)
I've decided that since there are many many examples of 'why our society is screwed' throughout the world on a daily basis, I've decided to make this a regular column here at the ol' Bulbablog. It's basically just news stories from across the world which illustrate how screwed up our world/society is.

So here goes the March 27th edition:

Our first example is actually a pretty tragic one from Dallas, Texas. It will probably be pretty big news story ...

  2. An Ode to Mothers

by , 25th March 2009 at 05:10 AM (The Golden Phoenix)
I know it's not mothers' day, but everyone should be thankful if your mother is still alive and with you. Today marks the one year anniversary of my mother's passing. She lost a long battle with breast cancer.

It was an inspiring battle, and the strength she exhibited throughout the entire ordeal was unlike anything I've ever seen. Here she was, with this deadly disease that was ravaging her body...and she knew she was going to die, yet she put on a strong facade for myself and ...

  4. Late Night Drives Home

by , 20th March 2009 at 05:28 AM (The Golden Phoenix)
Here is a poem I wrote, just thought I'd post it here.

The wild and crazy have left from the night.
Time to drive home, but I'm feelin' alright.
As I pass the familiar scenes back to home,
I am free to reflect during this time alone.
What is it exactly? It's much more than my crib.
Home is where you belong, it's where you live.
But living is so much more than where you sleep, eat, and pee.
    It's more than a house, ...
  5. Prologue to my upcoming Pokemon Novel

by , 12th March 2009 at 05:30 AM (The Golden Phoenix)

A tiny blue speck dangles against the midnight backdrop of the starry abyss.

Infinite black space stretches for as far as the eye can see and the brain can comprehend.

Gigantic gaseous fireballs look like nothing but tiny fireflies fluttering about a dark forest.

Upon closer examination, that luminous blue dot in the sky is definitely more than a tiny, insignificant speck.

    The vibrant ...
