Okay so I'm looking for some good books to kill the time I have to spend in bed coming up later this month.

I was wondering what people's favorite books are. I am a fan of almost any genre, but I prefer coming of age novels, fantasy, mystery, adventure, etc.

Any help anyone is able to offer is much appreciated.

    Harry Potter

Stargirl: About an unusual girl who needs to live an unusual life - and a boy around her narrates the story.
The Three Musketeers: My fav classic. The usual stuff, the usual action.

Mitochondria and the Meaning of life: An awesome book that'll lead you to Dream World in less than 15 minutes.

I'll suggest more if I can come up with more.

Fantasy? The Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin is awesome. :)

Sci-Fi? How about Madeleine L'Engle's classic Time Quintet? Start with A Wrinkle in Time, of course.

And uh, for some reason, Jack London's Call of the Wild and White Fang comes to mind right now. I don't know why. It's a story about dogs and wolves, and is basically about fitting in....but for canines. Dunno. Give it a shot, maybe?

EDIT: Just remembered: Also, Neil Gaiman's...well, Neil Gaiman's everything. All his books are awesomesauce.

I'm not sure what age you are so forgive me if my suggestions are too "childish" or too "mature" or whatever
Diary of a Wimpy Kid series lol
The Chronicles of Narnia (I'm not sure why I'm suggesting it...it's a bit hard to understand and a bit boring but I read it anyways lol)
    The Mysterious Benedict Society series
The His Dark Materials Trilogy (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass)

    *Ahem*

If you like zombies I suggest the Newsflesh Trilogy (Feed/Deadline/Blackout) by Mira Grant. The Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix is pretty awesome too.

BUT TRUST ME HARRY POTTER IS SO GOOD

@Dragonfyre; is absolutely right. George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series is spectacular.

The Harry Potter series comes to mind, they are very well writen, excellent books, if you havent read them, they are a great read, and still are even if you have :P Ive read them numerous times. Cant reccomend it higher.

I also enjoyed The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins.

I enjoy a lot of different kinds of books: His Dark Meterials series is quite good,

Also another series I enjoyed a lot was Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code. Great book and part of a series of three books. The Da Vinci Code is the second. The others are Angels and Demons and The Lost Symbol

I would include more, but I dont want to overwhelm you. Ive enjoyed a lot of books :P

King Solomon's Mines by H. Rider Haggard. It's old (written in the 1800s) but it's a great example of a classic, swashbuckling adventure novel.

I don't know if I have a favorite genre, (unless you count old Russian prose novels a genre). But here are some books off the top of my head that I'd like to read if I had to stay in a bed for awhile.

    Brave New World
    1984
    Fahrenheit 451
    Crime and Punishment
    The Idiot
The Brothers Karamazov (it'll move you, man.)
The Catcher in the Rye (since you like coming of age stuff)
    Lord of the Flies
    The Sun Also Rises
The Secret Sharer (it was good don't juuuuuudge)
    Black Hawk Down
How To Make Friends and Opress People
    Humor Me
    The Alienist
The Angel of Darkness (this one and the one above will keep you reading a month.)
Shutter Island (if you liked the movie, the book is great)

Two ideas I have. Shade's Children by Garth Nix OR Cell by Stephen King. The former is probably my favorite book to date.
