to get circumference you multiply the diamiter times pie.But isn't pie not only three point one four?

    Your answer will always be estimated. For an exact answer, you'd have to right down the value of the denominatior and pi. Pretend the symbol of pi=x for a second, and your diameter is 8. An exact answer would be 8x but your teacher probably wants you to just multiply it by 3.14.

    Or just use a calculator's Pi function.

    Still doesn't give an "exact" answer. Finding an exact answer when there's Pi just means I ignore it :P
