Day 2 - Journey Through Mt. Moon

Last time, I had just defeated Brock and was heading to Mt. Moon. So today I decided to tackle the mountain (figuratively of course). Well, that's all I did on this day.

That's it.

Just that. I forgot that caves, even the short ones, in Gen I can really tire you out. It's all those dang Zubat/Geodude.

I traveled between Route 3 and Route 4 with a meandering journey through Mt. Moon in the middle. Nothing too exciting happened this day. I did manage to catch Jigglypuff, Zubat, Geodude, Clefairy, and Paras and I bought the Magikarp from the guy in the Pokemon Center outside on Route 3 (I like to since it helps to start out with a strong Water type (if you can get up to level 20 to evolve it)). For my mountain journey, I replaced some of my Pewter Gym team. I took with me Pyro, Sparker, Flap, Flutters, Nik, and my newly acquired Dracon. It was an interesting journey to say the least but at least I made it through. The most exciting thing to happen to me was Pyro evolving into Charmeleon! Yay! I'm currently working on getting Nik to evolve into Nidorino and slowly getting Dracon up there so I won't have to keep switching it out to level it up (plus it never hurts to have an awesome Gyarados on the team).

Oh and I did manage to defeat all of the Rocket Grunts and grab the Dome Fossil. I think Omanyte is very cute, but Kabutops is so much more awesome than Omastar (plus, I always tend to go for the Helix Fossil so I changed it up).

Well that's it for today's journey (I told you I didn't have a whole lot to report). I am waiting just outside Mt. Moon on Route 4 before heading into Cerulean City. There's probably going to be a whole lot more leveling up before I take on the Gym (especially with Sparker).
