Is cheesecake. There is no cheese in there. Yet it's called cheesecake. When you're young and still learning English, you usually know the word cheese, and the word cake, so you naturally assume that it's a cheese flavoured cake. Which it isn't. I remember when my English teacher told me this. I was all like "wtf?". They ought to rename cheesecake to something that makes more sense.

Cream cheese is cheese. Cream cheese is in the cake. Therefore it is cheesecake.

no, it's not made out of cream cheese. It's made out of quark (not cheese). In Dutch it's thus also called Quarkpie (literrally translated).

Yes, it's very bland. I compare it to coconut, which is just too sweet. Although, cream cheese, especially mascarpone, is very good with simple things.

not really. Cream cheese is called Smeerkaas in Dutch and Quark is called Kwark. Notice the difference?
