What exactly is the point of remembering that many anyways? Why would they demand that many? Surely it's better to focus on fewer, but actually getting some use out of them?

The point is probably so that in a real test, when you actually have to translate texts, you don't have to pull out your dictionary every time, which would save time.

That wouldn't help me much. I could read Latin words all I want, but I still wouldn't know their meaning (which is the whole point).

Where you expected to know the majority of these by now or did they drop them recently?

Yeah I never learned my Latin wordlist. But it was so unfair, for every level so far in school we were given the wordlist in he exam and then they were like, "yeah we aren't doing that anymore."

I failed Level 3 Latin.

Well I knew about the test for weeks... Just not that it was this week (I thought next). So I sortof screwed myself, although I wasn't the only one. And this test isn't an exam and actually has the purpose of us learning these words, because else we wouldn't do it.
