Because why stop at accusing Mario for abusing turtles and tanookis when Nintendo has other popular franchises that obviously harm animals? Yup, they moved on to pokémon.

It's a flash game in which pokémon are tired of being abused and fight humans. Yup. Pikachu is even holding up a sign saying "I support team plasma" at the start. The game is kinda NSFW because of the gorey abused pokémon.

The makers of this flash game seem pretty informed about pokémon though. It seems like they only know the basics (as seen from pikachu supporting team plasma), but once you get to Ghetsis (third opponent), the following exchange takes place:

"Ghetsis, I thought you supported pokémon liberation!"
Ghetsis: "I don't want pokémon freed-I want to control them! Didn't you finish the last game? There was this whole twist to the ending, it was great! Well, up untill I was defeated by a kid."

Ghetsis even wears a uniform resembling his B2W2 uniform, so yeah. The maker of this flash game totally knows the plot of BW. And if they know all those thing you'd think they should know N's conclusion that most pokémon actually want to be with their trainers. But of course they can't acknowledge that, that opposes their campaign. :P

    I hate PETA (and most animal rights activists and vegans I know who aren't, like, idealistic kids don't take them seriously) but I actually think this is pretty hilarious. I mean, who hasn't joked about how Pokemon is basically glorified cockfighting?

    And I don't think by making this parody game that they're necessarily "going after" Pokemon; it's just a joke, and hell, it's nice to see PETA exhibit a sense of humor for once. So I'll save my rage for the next time they do something truly inflammatory, like compare eating meat to joining the KKK or whatever.

    You know, for some reason, I looked at the game and the pictures next to them, and the first thing that came up in my mind was a vampire. I don't know why though. Probly because there was fangs, blood, and people in the same area, so that might be why.

    Got to hand it to PETA though, some of this shit is too hilarious.

    And the pokémon naming. Damn, so many good opportunities to be extremely childish.

    They might've done some research on the story, but it's pretty obvious they missed the whole "the world is better when Pokémon and people work together, Pokémon like battling, etc." thing.

    @Lugion; I think they knew about the "Pokemon like battling" thing because, if someone really wanted to analyze whether or not Pokemon promotes animal abuse, the fact is that's a pretty problematic message.

    Anyway, I still think it's a parody. I mean, the various Pokememes they reference and the in-depth knowledge of the original game's plot makes it seem like it was made by someone in the fandom, or at least a certain amount of respect for it. I'm sure if PETA really had a beef (ha) with Pokemon they would have gone after it years ago, like when it was at the height of its popularity in the late '90s/early '00s. There was also a PETA staffer who commented on an article about it saying it was intended as a parody.
