This whole genesect thing is werid and I don't think Gen 5 is over

To be clear its obvious the DS is done with. No more shall it offer us a Pokemon game and PMD's jump to the 3DS shows the franchise is moving on. However though, the main games still might be stuck with gen 5, or more importantly Unova based.Why this has to do with Genesect is more obvious then it seems, and that's what this blog is about. No threads have been made, or apparently for me it doesn't seem so, and I would like to flesh out this idea before jumping the shark and making a thread which could be closed. See what I mean is, Genesect and Extremespeed Genesect are likely 2 different kinds in the movie. Game Genesect is holding a something special in a future 3DS main series game likely, as PMD has no extraordinary use of it as of now and the first reveal has a hint about the 3DS. Why this makes me think gen 5 isn't over is simple: 2 Genesect events in a course of 6 months, with a 3rd one being unlikely. What that gives us is not one, but 2 events for the movie and not 1 with Genesect being the other. So why? I mean if Gen 6 were coming, and the movies needed to handle the game conversion, they would use a newer Pokemon off the bat like Manaphy and Pokemon Ranger, as the console conversion would render any event mon to the main series useless, yet the movies not only have 2 event Pokemon needed to promote it, but a justifiable mess on if Extremespeed Genesect would be a form in itself for the games. What that would mean is a 3rd Genesect event yes, but then that would also mean gen 5 likely getting another (round of) game(s) as a new form wouldn't extactly transfer over to gen 6. More importantly is that this new form isn't anything special, and perhaps more are coming. But then there is the mess of the second Pokemon. Would it be perhaps Extremespeed Genesect and new Mon, or Extremespeed genesect and team Plasma's genesect, to throw us off? I know this post is a mess, but basically what I'm getting at is that 2 Genesects in the movie combined with yet another Genesect event makes gen 6 even less likely, as they're obviously trying to throw us off.

You're right: This post is a mess. It's pretty obvious that you're just looking for signs supporting B3W3 that aren't really there.

Could future Pokemon sequels — maybe even a Black 3 and White 3 — be in the cards? Masuda provides only a vague answer: "If in the future, we feel that we want to continue, perhaps we'll have a continuation. But we're really satisfied with how Black 2 and White 2 have turned out, so perhaps not."

Masuda wouldn't have said that if they'd already been working on new Unova games. Also:

Why stick to the original DS? Why not move to the 3DS for the new Pokémon?

Masuda: So first, being a direct sequel to Pokémon Black version and Pokémon White version, we really wanted to make sure that players of the original game would be able to play the sequels. Maybe not all of them have a Nintendo 3DS, but they definitely had a Nintendo DS if they played the original games.

Releasing yet another pair of sequels for the 3DS would make B2W2 look like an afterthought.

As for the Red Genesect, it's most likely a way to justify a third Genesect distribution. Nothing more, nothing less. It could just be used to unlock a completely separate Pokémon in Generation VI, just as the shiny legendary beasts unlocked Zoroark. There is also a possibility that next year's spin-off game will be associated with the second movie promotion, and will in turn accommodate a Generation VI distribution.

The normal Genesect has been spotted in the most recent trailer. The fact that it's absent from the current poster and synopsis essentially means that it will only have a minor role at best.

Well, well. I also find things that Gen V isn't that easily over. If Gen V isreleasedI won't be around Sept 2013*. Furthermore, I expect the games, or in Nov-Dec of the same year, or in <Mar-Apr 2014. Also, I expect that the Gen V anime will end in Unova (not exactloy but you know).

Merchandise from March has appeared (including one merch that resembles one of the ???? of last year releasing next March) and I don't see any ???? in it. Also, the title didn't hint at new pokemon like other titles (to be more precise, the title is fi anything anti-new pokemon).

My answer. Mitchman and Silktree are right at the moment. With one exceptions: BW3 won't be released.

I'm going to start to think that the Gen VI will have very few new pokemon. And I'm going to start thinking that the starters could be one Grass, one Fire and one Water (if this has the name Piplup we had problems, if it's Oshawott, expect Ash's Oshawott staying with the gang) or that the starter is Eevee (used foir a starter for non-main games). Other oñptions is that use a game with Pikachu as a starter that can't evolve (but you'd get a free Light Ball mid-game)-

I say this because we have already 649 pokemon for a franchise that originally has 150 and soon after planned 250. And trust me, it's a lot.

*Reason. Because I don't think that will be a 6-month gap between Jap and international again. And I don't see any games release after Christmas except in special circunstances.

They haven't announced any movie-related merchandise yet, as evidenced by the lack of Red Genesect toys. Really, there is no reason why they would have to release anything so far ahead of the movie premiere. The release schedule varies with each year, but more often than not the first advertisements surface in January.

Darkrai wasn't hinted at by the original Movie 10 title.

Mitchman and Silktree are right at the moment.

But we don't agree on the situation. We can't both be right.

I'm going to start to think that the Gen VI will have very few new pokemon.

Whether or not that prediction will be proven right has nothing to do with how Movie 16 will promote the hypothetical new Pokémon. Even if for some bizarre reason there were only one new Pokémon in the games, I'm sure that the movie would promote it.

The support mon were either event mon or nothing in the cases of manaphy and zoroark. In any case it likely means that it could be something like the NEP in movie 12. Meaning that gen 5 aint over. Maybe with the DS it is but somrthing will pop up on the 3DS.
EDIT Forgot also to mention that if anything this is exactly like movie 12 more then movie 13. MOre so its like movie 4 than 5 as well. Both are the last eventmpokemon with their own movie and the ladt likely games of the gen are coming up. If gen 6 was coming then the title would hav3 been vaguer or have Genesect as the support then the main

We don't know that Genesect is the main Pokemon; past experience dictates that something else will be revealed in February. I really don't see what you're getting at.

So in other words not a proper new game (although I have no idea what you mean by Unova-infused Hoenn remakes). TPCi have ruled that out:

Viktorsaurus Radermacherii: What will be different about the mainline Pokemon games on the Nintendo 3DS? In other words, how will the 3DS enhance the Pokemon experience and what can we expect? A new gen or a remake?

TPCi: While we cannot divulge any direct answers here, something is in development for 3DS that will incorporate the ability of the 3D on the console. It will be a new game - not a remake.

I did not know that remakes were out of the question. But the point remains that if its not gen 6 then its at least a gray version. Genesect will be the main Pokėmon however as all of the first revealed bar Pichu were. Hell take into consideration Pichu and you can argue it is a support and the main Pokėmon in the end is something known with a new forme....say like themoriginal dragon.

A new game rules out a third version, as well. Genesect can be one of the movie's featured Pokémon in the same way that Mew and Victini were.

A new game is how 3rd versions have been described as well. As for mew and victini both were distributed in their respective gens and were not so prominent as Genesect is. I still stand firm that this whole mess, as is episode N a means to further things along till the next and last gen 5 games. If gen 6 does come however, at least expect some huge connections to Unova if not a bordering region. Might even be why ash is not returning to Kanto as the next region is next door.

What would you have them do? Not focus on Genesect or Team Plasma in the remainder of Generation V so that fans like you wouldn't get the wrong idea? I mean, come on. You're over-analyzing the situation to fit your preconceived wishlist. Just because Genesect seems prominent now doesn't mean it won't be overshadowed later; an obviously incomplete title is not enough to suggest that it will have a bigger role than Mew and Victini did.
