The Therian Formes weren't planned at the time of BW's release anyway. Or at least that's what internal data indicates.

This question just confuses me. The region would have been viewable in 3D, and I would assume StreetPass would be used instead of passerby mode and Infrared communication would probably use the 3DS's IR port rather than one on the game card, but I really don't see that much being different within a generation. It feels like a pointless question though - what would Emerald have been like if it had been released on the DS? This was never the plan, so speculating on it is pointless.

From what I recall, the Pokestar Studios and PWT concept art also featured Hilda instead of Rosa.

Yes, yes I did. I can't believe I skimmed that info, thanks for reminding me.

I'm somewhat curious as to how the games would have ended up had they not been revamped into sequels. The sad fact of the matter is that B2W2's Giant Chasm climax could have actually been integrated into a third version. Perhaps Ghetsis wouldn't have faced the player in N's Castle, but rather he would have had Kyurem merge with N's Reshiram/Zekrom right there and then. He would have taken off to the Giant Chasm in order to maximize Kyurem's freezing potential.

That's on thing we might never know. Not to mention a 3rd version for Unova would be weird, I just can't imagine it at all.
