How hard is it to understand that it means one of a kind? Just like it does in French, and it's Latin origin, unicus does. unicus stems from the root unus, meaning one.

Uniqueness is absolute. Either something is unique, or it isn't. It cannot possibly be both, or somewhere in between. "Relatively unique", is a perfect example of that. If it isn't one of a kind, then don't use Unique. Use "rare" or something

Unique is a very powerful word. Don't use it lightly. Treat it with respect and it doesn't need an explanation.
