The Lack of Nintendo Animated Series

If you think about it. There really haven’t been that many Adaptations of Nintendo Characters in other media. Animation especially. I mean as Pokémon Fans we have been both very fortune and lucky that for 11 years (12 in Japan) and counting that there has been a Pokémon cartoon to watch.
I mean, look at the other Nintendo properties. Despite their popularity there have been very few cartoons about them.
Although to be honest if there ever were a Metriod cartoon. I would prefer it to be a movie or mini-series. I don’t know about it being an on-going series.
Super Mario Bros. hasn’t had a cartoon series in 18 years. Let me repeat SUPER MARIO BROS. HASN’T HAD A CARTOON SERIES IN 18 YEARS. Think about it. Since then Mario’s old rival Sonic the Hedgehog has had four different animated series in that time. Since that time a lot of characters from the Super Mario Bros. Universe have made their debut since the last Mario cartoon and thus have never been in animated form. Wario, Toadsworth, King Boo, Toadette, Bowser Jr., and many others didn’t exist 18 years ago.
Does anyone else find that odd?
Maybe it has to do with the Super Mario Bros. Live-Action Movie. Maybe. . .Just maybe Nintendo was so embarrassed by that movie that must have put a ban on any future Mario Adaptations.
And considering how awful both the animated series of Donkey Kong Country and Kirby: Right Back At Ya! were maybe it’s a good thing there haven’t been more Nintendo cartoons.
