I'm supposed to be doing an essay but I'll post this short blog

1. It's kind of disappointing how people are still going on about Zelda's 25th anniversary, while Pokemon's 15th barely caused a ripple outside of Pokemon communities. Is 15 not old enough? I feel like Pokemon is more nostalgic than Zelda for my generation since we were there for its inception, as opposed to Zelda which had several games released before they were a sperm cell in their father's testes. The point is not to complain about "omg u gaiz r 2 young for zelda, pogeymanz iz the best", or even much of complaining at all, but I don't know why Zelda is somehow more endearing in this respect than Pokemon is. Perhaps my Gamefreak brainwashed mind has something to do with not being able to comprehend this disparity
2. I went home over the weekend due to various personal issues, so no Pokemon tournament. Based on what my friend told me, it was exciting (although she was not sure of the skill level of the other players, being a casual player, or who won because she watched other games and then left early). I'm building that doubles team anyways, though. Which brings us to the next point....
3. I found out I have money in my bank account, so I have enough for B/W. I don't know whether I should give into impatience and get B/W release day (and murder my grades), or wait until spring break when I can properly learn how to RNG abuse in B/W, get Victini, and focus on the game and teambuilding and whatnot. Which brings us to yet another point...
4. I am late to the VGC metagame but I'm thinking about entering the VGC 2011 regionals in San Francisco with some Smogon friends. Of my 6 years of competitive battling, I would say I spent a grand total of two weeks caring about doubles. Half on 3rd gen doubles. I have no skill in it at all but I do have some team ideas. I am going up against people who have been practicing since October on imported games/PO and cracked the B/W RNG to get perfect Unova Pokemon. I'm not confident at all, but should I go and take a crazy shot at it? After missing that Pokemon tournament, I have the craving to fight some people irl, not on a simulator, not over Wi-Fi, but with my opponent physically in front of me, against competitive players who are either equal in skill to me or can completely kick my ass as opposed to my casual playing friends whom I see everyday whose only concept of winning is "using brute force w/ lv 100 Pokemon".
That wasn't so short, oh well, thanks for reading
