The Legend Of Dratini

So here we have the second episode to get banned in America. I'm guessing this is when the US editors' gun phobia began, since apparently the gun usage is what did this ep in.
The problem is it doesn't make sense. Yeah, Safari Man did pull a gun on Ash, but that's nothing new to him. That happened last ep, too, as well as in "Here Comes the Squirtle Squad." And as for the old man actually firing his gun--I remember how "gun-ho" Nastina was in "Tentacool and Tentacruel." Apparently, however, they chose to make this ep the target of their editing disdain.
And it's a real shame, too, because it's one of those things that opens up a gaping hole in the show's chronology. Later on in the show, in "Showdown at the Poke-Corral," Professor Oak mentions all the Tauros Ash caught in the Safari Zone. The first time I saw that, I thought to myself, "When did that happen?"
So...there's really not much more for me to say today.
Next: Ash fights Pokemon battles...on bicycles.
