Poke-Talk

Where I talk about Pokémon that I want to talk about.

  1. Harry Pottermon

I'm not sure when this thought popped into my head, but I've been toying with it for a while. Basically, I started thinking about a Pokémon/Harry Potter crossover, and somehow my thoughts went towards both Pokémon types and the four houses of Hogwarts. What I specifically started thinking about was which types would go with which house. (Like I said, don't try to figure out how this thought started--just accept that it happened and go with it.) Here's what I got so far:

  2. Special Pokemon, Special Moves

In previous blog entries, I noted how each of the Kalos starter Pokémon has its own signature move (or moves, in Greninja's case). Well, they're not the only ones. The same is true of Kalos' legendary trio--Xerneas, the fairy stag that gives life; Yveltal, the dark bird of death; and Zygarde, who balances and controls the two. 3. Hot Skitty On...Well, You Know...

I'm sure you all know about this. If not, then listen to DracoMan: When a Skitty and a Wailord love each other very much--

Okay, maybe I should end that train of thought. Still, it did get me thinking (and not about Rule 34, though now that I mention it...). I'm sure everyone has noticed that the Field egg group is the largest one, and seems more and more like a catch-all group. Why else would a giant whale be grouped with a bunch of terrestrial mammals?

    I wonder if ...

  4. Combee Part Of The Team

Okay, so you're a bee. You like buzzing around, checking out all the pretty and sweet-smelling flowers, gathering nectar and playing with pollen and that stuff. Trouble is, you gotta leave your honeycomb to do so, and who's gonna watch over your cell? Yeah, you're supposed to be able to trust your hivemates, but there's that one who's been looking a little shifty lately. So what do you do?

Answer: bring your honeycomb with you. Better yet: bee (heh) the honeycomb. That seems to be ...

  5. Looking Into The Unown

One day, early in 1999, Ken Sugimori was eating lunch while mulling over a problem. The newest Pokémon games, Gold and Silver, were in development and he needed to come up with a bunch of new critters yesterday. Well, it just so happened that he was eating alphabet soup (American-style, of course--imagine trying to squeeze all that Japanese kanji into one can) when inspiration struck.

Thus was born Unown--the Alphabet Soup Pokémon.

So what is this little guy about? ...
