The most common incidence of the latter has been death threats (which we have an absolutely zero tolerance policy on), but I think the most recent case we had of that really makes the point best. Nando. Was he banned for making complaints? No. He was banned for making false accusations that a member of our staff was a pedo, and then continuing these accusations both on the forums and in other venues after presented with incontrovertible evidence that he was wrong, including information that had been received from the supposed "victim" herself. I think we can all agree that this is WAY overstepping the line.
So the quote above is from a recent blog that friend of mine nicely told me to read. This member shall remain unnamed. Should I have been told about this blog by someone else, he or she will remain nameless. Instead, I will be calling this nameless person Person A should they need further mentions in this thread if said person was the one who informed me of this blog.

Moving right along, I see that old drama has been brought up once more. Ever heard of the phrase "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?" Doesn't really seem to apply here, but whatever. Maybe it does. I feel that it may apply since some people enjoy bringing up old drama that happened in "Vegas" and they can't seem to keep it in "Vegas."

With that said, I would like to see this shit dropped. Move on with your lives. I certainly have. It's stupid. It's pointless. What are you gaining from this? Absolutely nothing! The way I see it, you're losing members from this. Not that you would notice since you seem to gain new ones each and every day.

tl;dr: Drop the drama and bullshit and move on with your lives. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. What happens in the past stays in the past.

That's kinds out of context. There was a situation where he decided to explain that. Dunno If I can elaborate, but it wasn't completely random

People were asking about that anyways. Archaic was simply giving the answer.

Yes, well, he doesn't need to bring up old drama either.

Considering that everyone else was bringing it up, I'd say Archaic was silencing old drama. In all honesty, I think he'd agree with you. It's best to learn from the mistakes of the past and then let them sit undisturbed. There are plenty of bad memories in Bulbagarden's history and the Nando case is one of them. I would think Archaic would like nothing more than for that memory to fade away.

Well, considering that Archaic keeps bringing it up, it doesn't seem like he wants it to fade away.

Define 'keeps.' I've only seen him bring it up this one time since the fact.

So, keep quiet and let the people think there is some ancient forum conspiracy, or address the issue and get blamed for not letting something die that the other people aren't in the first place?

Way to ignore the actual point of the blog, and focus on the one example that is one of the more recent and applicable ones.

Also "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" or any derivative saying you get out of that is stupid anyway. I mean, what would happen if we applied that to larger things, which I will not give an example since I am sure you can give a few, and never learned our lesson? In fact your saying of "What happens in the past stays in the past" is why terrible things in history repeats itself, because we don't remember.

Of course in the context of this forum, the saying is probably still fine, but overall, that saying is fucking dumb.

He owns this site and if he feels that he should bring something up to use as an example he can do it. Just because your friend was that person it doesn't matter. If it was someone else you wouldn't give a shit Felly.

Maybe start thinking outside the box.

"What happened in Vegas stays in Vegas" isn't the best phrase to use, considering that means "what happens here, stays here." Well, this is something that happened on bulbagarden's forums, and something that is being addressed again on bulbagarden's forums, mainly because there have been some questions about it.

Now, please do NOT forget that, while we have actually kept what happened in vegas, IN vegas, someone else who you and I both know brought it to other places, such as livejournal (I actually have screencaps of this). I thought you were too cool for double standards, Felly. :(

I'm a little confused about how it's okay for people who've been banned to continue spreading lies and slander about us -- especially saying that we, a Pokemon message board, have pedophiles on our staff -- but it's not okay for us to tell things like they are and defend ourselves.

    Is that Las Vegas logic?
