3DS Games Wishlist Part Two:
Onto Part two of my wishlist. Sorry it took awhile, I merely forgot about it, though I started right after I was finished with Part One. Now let's Start with Mario.
Mario (not MarioKart)- I don't really have a mario game for my DS (LOL I was about to put 3DS instead of DS). Well I do but it's more a port than anything (even if you can play with 3 other characters than Mario). That's right, Super Mario 64 DS. Now I'm not picky but I would love an original 3D graphics rendered Mario mirroring the original Zelda games for the DS (just with 3DS level possible graphics). Or maybe a port of Super Mario Sunshine (since I've never played it before). Regardless I would like something like that. I suppose they could do a 3D display of certain 2D games, but I don't know if I see the appeal in that but if they have some sort of Mario Collection game (and if I have the money), I wouldn't mind. Again not picky, I'm just looking forward to seeing cool Mario games.
Resident Evil- I don't know entirely enough about revelations, but so far I like what I'm seeing and I really hope they keep adding resident evil games to the 3DS' library. Foremost I want any RE game to be like Resident Evil 4. I have Resident Evil Deadly Silence for the DS, and while it isn't so bad (it has some appeal to me), the control scheme sucks, I really hate games like that (that don't have smooth natural motion, like the RE games for the Playstation). So something similar to RE 4 would be preferable. Also instead of a slot system (which I think was used for Deadly Silence), I want a briefcase (upgradable) like in RE 4, since I'm sick of always not having enough space and the briefcase had a grid slot system so you could rearrange your weapons and items so they could fit. Also there should be healing stations at some point, so that way one doesn't have to keep wasting herbs and first aid's. Now don't get me wrong, they shouldn't be littered everwhere, and should be few and far between, but even so there should be something that heals your health, outside of herbs / first aid kits that doesn't waste the few resources available in game (even though that's the point of the game). Also I should add that maybe the touch screen could be used to shoot the monster in a similar fashion to the wiimote to the Wii version (as in aiming with wiimote), though the gyroscope would make more sense, considering it wouldn't make sense to have some of the action on the touch screen, but it was a nice thought while it lasted.
Although now that I think of Mario Kart for the DS, I realize it might be possible. On Mario Kart DS the touch screen served as a secondary screen, so you didn't have to rely solely on the top screen to drive (as the touch screen allowed you to race/drive just by looking at it, though of a simplified version of the top screen). Now in a hypothetical resident evil game the touch screen could have something similar to the top screen just of lesser quality, such as silouettes, from a low quality background, and there would be an aiming cursor that controls the direction of where the character is aiming his gun, resulting in you placing the cursor over the target and firing. Though I admit it does sound too complicated, just merely possible. I'd prefer the gyroscope though. But hopefully they include a feature that way you don't really have to turn in a 360' motion just for the playable character to turn in a 360' motion. Maybe a button locks the camera perspective so you can reset that way you'd only have to make incremental 45' angle motions that eventually would add up to 360, though I'd agree that would be tough.
A really awesome chess fighting game- I'm talking about something like what was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers stone, where the pieces brutally attack the other opponent when they take the piece. I think there actually was a similar chess video game in real life but I can't remember what it was called. Also I would love different chess piece schemes. Like I don't know a Dinosaur theme, with the T-Rex being the king or something. Something unique and fresh but always have the original scheme.
Super Smash Brothers 3DS version- This is a must, it would be awesome, plus there's already fighting games like this in the form of Dead or Alive Dimensions, so it should be possible. I'm not sure what characters should be included but from Pokemon I see (5th gen only + one obvious staple): Pikachu, Zoroark (similar to Lucario, but can change into a different character, similar to ditto, though probably not as glitchy as apparently the ditto was in that one Super Smash brothers game which got scrapped because of it), and maybe if there has to be a fighting type maybe Emboar. Previous gen Pokemon: Jigglypuff, Lucario, Mewtwo. As for number of playable characters let's go with 20 or maybe up to 30. I don't really care if they cut down stuff to make this work. Maybe not as much figurines as Brawl had. But at least three extra figurines from a specific series. But yeah, I would like to see a super smash brothers on the 3DS. As for other characters I expect pretty much the same as Brawl, only no extraneous series characters like Sonic, Snake, or the Fire Emblem series. Just the top Nintendo ones like Mario, Pokemon, Metroid, Zelda, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Earthbound. I wouldn't mind 4 main characters from some other series (like Sonic, Snake, etc), but keep it mostly in the 6 series I listed that way a large selection could be some of our favorite characters from the game. Should they include final smash like they did in Brawl? If and only if every character's final smash is different than everyone else's. No reason to have "clones" just because it's easier for the animators to work with.
Hasbro Board Games- (Assuming these are Hasbro Games, if not how about board games in general) Such as Risk, Battleship, Monopoly, etc, etc. All the fun games, and maybe they can include it on one cartridge too. With the 3DS it would probably possible to actually 3D render these games in such a realistic way too. I mean imagine Monopoly for a second, think of the board, now imagine the 3DS displaying that board. Now I'm sure being on the 3DS will allow more dynamic animation, like with Risk, you can actually see a mini cutscene of soldiers fighting, an infantry unit, a calvary unit, and a cannon unit or something, would be interesting, but unlike some of these games, you could get better graphics. I do admit, while I like board games I can see how someone like "you" won't want to see some of these games in 3D display because it would probably be boring. But who knows they could be creative with these games with the whole 3DS system.
Real Time Strategy Game- I'm talking about something like Warcraft (1, 2, and 3), Starcraft, etc, etc. I don't really expect Blizzard to help make a 3DS game, but I would like a general Real Time Strategy game similar to Warcraft/Starcraft. Of what that might be (plot wise and genre (as Warcraft was like fantasy and Starcraft was like science fiction)), I don't know, but I'm sure it would be interesting regardless. Of course if I were to get one I want something like of the humor that was in Warcraft/Starcraft. I mean as much as I like Age of Empires to an extent, they don't have any humourous flavor sound bites (or as Blizzard puts it, pissed off sound bites) like Warcraft/Starcraft. And who knows Blizzard has released some Nintendo games in the past (allowed their product to be Nintendo products, Starcraft I think was on the 64 and there was a GBA Viking game developed by Blizzard), so maybe something like Warcraft and Starcraft might show up on the 3DS on some format one way or another. Or maybe an exclusive Nintendo series similar to Warcraft/Starcraft developed by Blizzard for the 3DS. Though I'm sure Blizzard has its hands full at the moment, to even consider it. But it's possible, unless Blizzard stated at some point they were only going to work solely with the PC.
Shooter Game- Something similar to: Halo, Time Splitters, Conduit. You know shooter games like that. In which you can choose from a bunch of characters (well Time Splitters did that anyway) and shoot people online, etc, etc. Now I'm sure Call of Duty will probably find it's way on the 3DS in some fashion (if it hasn't already), but I want something more science fiction than Call of Duty heavily more based on science fiction than Call of Duty. Edit as I was making this: Checking Wikipedia, it seems to indicate that there will be a Conduit game for the 3DS, titled Conduit 3DS, well I'll see what that's about when more information comes out. But more 3DS shooter games is a must.
A Diverse Racing game- My younger half brother (I think he's 9 or 10; he doesn't live with me, so I rarely see him to know how old he is, I think he's 9 though) likes shooter and racing games. Though with racing games he would like to go anywhere and just do "whatever" and you know that actually sounds rather fun. Personally I don't care too much for racing games, though I do have a soft spot with Mario Kart (probably because you can use items on other racers), anyway I would like some sort of vehicular/racing game where one of the options is a sort of freestyle driving option where the map is huge and you can just drive wherever you want without a time limit, or any real purpose. Perhaps include fun map Landmarks: Something like a Mount Rushmore level, where you can climb the "mountain" and then for fun jump off the mountain and fall with style. Sure I know there is Mario Kart to look forward to but personally, I think a tad more realistic vehicle game would be nice. I do remember an ATV game, where you could drive almost anywhere, and one of the "glitches" or fun part was jumping like 500 feet in the air when you hit the sweet spot. Now naturally racing can be part of the game, I wouldn't mind it, but maybe something more fun, something more freestyle. Also a vehicle game where you have weapons and "kill" other vehicles wouldn't be bad either, yeah something like "Twisted Metal" right? I also wouldn't mind this hypothetical vehicular game with missions (the Mario Kart I have for the DS had missions).
A Badass Detective/Puzzle game- Well there's always the possibility of Tomb Raider, but I want something a bit more "mature" than Tomb Raider (which so far has only ever gotten a T rating). Something unexplainable, maybe with witches/monsters. Now the general layout can work out like a detective with "super powers" and solving crimes or what not, and the plot can deal with some really horror like qualities. The main character would be upgradable. The character would have levels, and skills he/she can learn (preferably a girl, maybe both if possible). And the game would consist heavily on a fighting combat system, but it would be laced with puzzles and stuff. So really I'm talking about a hardcore badass detective game. The puzzles could be something like finding the book that fits in the bookslot that opens a door, or maybe you have to disarm a bomb and stuff of that nature. As I implied I'd definitely would like one more on "supernatural" elements than something realistic. As for the "fighting" combat system (think of something like a fighting game but with 360' motion instead of the usual 2D movement), it would have punching, kicking, superpower abilities, well anything you can think of. Something like this would be fun, and I'd probably enjoy it.
That's it for Part Two. I might come up with a part three, but for now, I'm not sure, it was hard coming with some of these, so a part three might even be more difficult to come up with (so if anything it'll be awhile before I post a Part three). As for my next blog, I guess I'll do a review for Black and White as I got that recently (like a week ago) and I'm almost done with beating the main quest (as in beating the Elite Four for the first time and beating N). Darn it, I realized I made a mistake. I'll be reviewing White, not black, as I don't have that version (even if they are roughly the same with differences). Of course I'm always doing that, I can't say the version I have, I have to lump everything together. Such as: So I was playing diamond pearl the other day, you know instead of saying "So I was playing diamond the other day."
So this it. While questions and comments are appreciated, they are not necessary. Until next time dman_dustin is out.
