Maybe threats of letter bombs aren't exactly the way to go for a serious organisation :P
Slay Our Voice Actors
I though i remeber reading somewhere on service.pokemon.com that all cast and other anime questions of this sort need to be sent to the people who do the writing, casting, dubbing ect. not to Pokemon themselves
I can't believe that this is still alive.
SOVA is still around? Look, I may not like the TPCi voice actors and prefer the 4Kids ones, but this is just... well, people on the internet will do anything for attention.
Poor choice of topic name and I'm sure if they're advertising the special, that it's been dubbed already.
It's really selfish of people to expect that with a few letters they could make the episodes get redubbed which would cost money and effort that won't really make a difference and just be a waste.
*facepalm* Seriously, how many years has it been already?
7ish. A third of my life. Daaaaaaaaaamn.
The special has probably already been dubbed.
Not gonna lie, I think SOVA is mainly centralized around a childhood love of the Original Series(Misty) that people can't move past, not that there's anything wrong with loving the Original Series. I enjoyed it a lot as well, but its been ages since the VA got changed. You think they would consider Sarah Natochenny's feelings as well, I mean she's been voicing Ash for a while now and it's her job that she might enjoy.
And, holy crap, that's a letter bomb? 0_0 Really? *forcepalm*
I'm pretty sure at this point mentioning you're part of SOVA sets off a red flag at the NSA.

I know there's realistically no chance of the 4Kids actors returning (much as I would love the idea), but it has NOTHING to do with love of the OS alone, or Misty (though I do love both myself: I won't lie about that). I liked the actors for their talent: I'm confident had 4Kids been allowed to dub BF and DP, I would've enjoyed those arcs a lot more than I did due to the cast switch. I can't even re-watch DP dub episodes because some of the voices, intros, and script writing/dialogue get on my nerves so much, I have to turn the episodes off. The dub's quality has dropped so severely to me in the last few years, that it has actually made it tough for me to watch newer episodes. I still acknowledge the TPCi dub and its actors have improved over the years, though.
Honestly, part of the reason I enjoyed the first 3/4 or so of AG so much in the dub, was because of the 4Kids actors. I really love re-watching any of the episodes 4Kids dubbed, regardless of whether they were in OS or AG. I feel those actors actually got me to relate to the characters (even if I know they are just cartoon characters), they knew how to act very professionally, and they actually sounded very age-appropriate in their roles (the latter statement I can honestly say does not apply to the current voice actors). I loved that voice cast, and was devastated when TPCi replaced not only them, but everyone who worked on 4Kids dub, after 8 years. I still don't like what happened, but realize there's nothing I can do to change that at this point.
Yeah, I definitely see your point: I do consider Sarah and company's feelings too (it isn't their fault), but what happened to Veronica Taylor and company in the first place wasn't fair to start with. Veronica actually cried about losing her job (I saw her at her panel that day, and I felt terrible), as did Rachael Lillis (I'm fully aware the latter actress got a cameo as Maylene). Either way, people have been treated unfairly. My point being that there IS no right or wrong in this situation. It's just something that, unfortunately or fortunately (depending on your opinion), occurred. I know some people who prefer the current cast (like my good friend Pikaminccino here, among several others), but they don't mock others for feeling differently and understand why other members of the fandom feel differently (not referring to you, Gotpika).
I dropped out of SOVA a while ago, though, but I do understand how they feel. I don't think it's right to make fun of them: the same goes for any previous traveling companion's fandom, whether it be Tracey, Misty, Brock, May, Max, Dawn, Iris, or Cilan. Everyone just has different ways they like to see the anime, or at least, that's the way I see it. :)
I'll be honest and say I don't really care about SOVA, but Stan Hart DEFINITELY deserves to be Professor Oak in The Origin if he can't voice him in the main anime even though he should be able to. I like the narrator's voice in the English trailer, which is a good sign.
Forgot to mention that Misty had nothing to do with this.
Also, if TPCi is so great, why is it on a Top 10 list of Worst Anime Dubs?
I only cared for SOVA when AG was airing, LOL.
I think all of us here know how futile it is to invest in get the old cast back on Pokemon (and although it does not need to be, when I mention 'old cast,' I am referring the the three main cast members and not others like Dan Green or Lisa Ortiz who have been cast in many roles since 4Kids lost the license). But I also want to repeat the same point I made in my own Blog. If members of the the SOVA campaign aren't convinced of the futility of their efforts after 7.5 long years, it's just as fruitless for the rest of us as the more rational members of the community to attempt to burst their thick bubbles. It's best to just let those lucky enough learn reality over time own their own.
I do want to say this though. Hats off to the BMGf staff for swiftly and forthrightly acting to cut off the SOVA members who bring their unwelcome campaign onto the forums and seem to think of themselves as being above community rules and guidelines.

You know full well I haven't actively discussed anything like that in many years. Even when I have brought it up, I've only discussed it as something that could happen, or that I would like if it did happen. I've not agitated for it in any way. You didn't campaign for it or anything, but you constantly suggested it even though it became rather obvious it wasn't going to happen by the time we were halfway through AG.

Putting aside the fact that I most certainly did not constantly suggest it, and that most of the times I might have even brought it up where in the context of shipping discussions or talking about how she could reappear for one off's like at the end of a season, it doesn't change the main point I was making. Simply talking about something as having the potential to happen, or about how one would like it if it did happen, is in no way comparable to active campaigning like what SOVA has been doing.
Well I agree with that then, you are right.
There are people who simply can't let go of the past though, and in a franchise that's constantly changing to adapt the latest gen of games I never understood why people harped on about old characters or old voices.
Honestly I think it was the Tracey/Brock swap being reversed that confused people into thinking that the original trio was always supposed to be reunited after a new character was introduced. Shame that 1999 era mistake tricked the fandom.
