Opinions on the Evolutions of Anime Characters' Pokémon- Ash Ketchum

OK! The latest installment of my blog. Here, I will speculate on how I think the Pokémon of anime main characters will evolve- the ones that I think will evolve, anyway. Please note that I could be woefully wrong about any or all of these, and as such, I do not claim any of these to be fact. This does not take into account any new evolutions introduced in Generations VI and beyond, nor any Pokémon Ash obtains after this is written. And me being lazy, you'd think I'd start something like this with Tracey, who only owns 4 Pokemon (provided the Dodrio he was seen riding in that flashback was actually his). But nope. I decided to do Ash first, mainly because a lot of these theories are fresh in my mind.
Pikachu: The series finale (which hopefully isn't for another couple millenia) will involve Ash being invited to an invitation-only tournament in Kanto, inviting the absolute best Pokémon trainers. The winner is officially deemed to be a Pokémon master. Ash gets through the tournament, battling old rivals along the way, and after winning the finals, is informed that he must defeat the champion of their last tournament, who turns out to be none other than Ash's dad! Ash battles his dad (3-on-3; Ash uses Charizard, Kingler, and Pikachu, his dad uses Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres) and wins, though narrowly. After the tournament, Ash is given the legendary birds by his dad. Then, Team Rocket, unaware of Ash's new Pokémon, show up to steal Pikachu. Ash uses Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres to beat them, then is about to have Pikachu and Zapdos finish them with a double Thunderbolt when his dad sends out a Raichu to join in. Team Rocket blasts off for the final time, dropping the Thunderstone they stole from Ash in the process. Pikachu and Raichu become friends instantly, and Pikachu eventually decides it'd like to evolve after all. It takes the Thunderstone, evolves into Raichu, and celebrates by firing a Hyper Beam into the air, end of series.
Tranquill: Ash and Trip will enter the Mistralton City Pokéringer contest. Ash with Tranquill, Trip with Unfezant (male). In the finals, Unfezant will be kicking Tranquill's feathery ass, but then Tranquill will evolve. As the female Unfezant has better flying abilities than the male, Ash's Unfezant will turn things around and win.
What actually happened: Well... It was in Mistralton City, and there was a male Unfezant in the same episode... Other than that, though, I wasn't even close.
Snivy: At some point down the road, Trip will battle Ash with a freshly evolved Serperior, and Snivy will evolve while battling it. Servine will evolve again during another battle against Trip, before (if not during) the Unova League.
Tepig: Ash will be challenged by a random trainer and his Heatmor. Ash will send out Tepig, but Tepig's shocked reaction will reveal that this trainer is in fact Tepig's original trainer, the one who abandoned it. This sparks a furious argument between the trainer and Ash, but Tepig will get its ass handed to it by Heatmor, prompting Ash to train with Tepig. Tepig will learn Heat Crash in the process and will evolve during the rematch and defeat Heatmor. Then it'll evolve into Emboar near the end of a would-be-filler because the writers like to troll us like that.
What actually happened: Holy crap, I was close. It did involve Tepig's original trainer, who did in fact use a Heatmor. There was no rematch, though, it was a double battle, and Pignite learned Fire Pledge instead of Heat Crash.
Oshawott: Ash will rebattle Stephan, Oshawott vs. Zebstrika. During the battle, Oshawott will attempt to deflect Zebstrika's Thunder with its scalchop, but the sheer power behind the Thunder will shatter the scalchop and KO Oshawott. Once Oshawott is healed, it will be distraught at the loss of its scalchop. Swadloon will try to fix it with String Shot but it won't work. Ash trains with Oshawott, to form new strategies with Water Gun and Aqua Jet to compensate for the loss of its scalchop. During the rematch, Oshawott evades multiple Thunder attacks through clever usage of Aqua Jet, but is hurt bad when one Thunder hits it. Then it evolves into Dewott, growing two new scalchops, and uses them to easily deflect Zebstrika's Thunder, then KO it with a stronger Razor Shell. As for Samurott, I don't think it'll evolve into that. I dunno, I just can't see it.
Swadloon: Next time it makes an appearance, whatever it's doing in it. Seriously. It's got a good bond with Ash and it's been a Swadloon for far too long.
What actually happened: More or less this, only it took two or three subsequent appearances.
Scraggy: During a battle against Team Rocket.
Roggenrola: Will evolve during a Team Rocket battle. Then will battle and tie against Trip's Gurdurr. Ash and Trip discover that their Pokémon evolve through trade and decide to trade to evolve them, then trade back. However, after the initial trade, and after they let their new Pokémon out to let them evolve, Team Rocket attacks the Pokémon center, steals Pikachu and Axew, then activates a device that electronically prevents Poké Balls from being opened in the center. However, Gigalith and Conkeldurr are still out. Ash and Trip battle Team Rocket, Ash commanding Conkeldurr, Trip commanding Gigalith. The trainers are surprised to see how well they work with the Pokémon, and after Team Rocket is defeated, it'll be decided that Ash'll keep Conkeldurr, and Trip will keep Gigalith.
What actually happened: I was way off all around. Roggenrola evolved in Driftveil Gym, and though it's still a Boldore, Trip's Gurdurr had already evolved, so there goes my idea for a trade.
Palpitoad: Don't see this one evolving.
Bulbasaur: After realizing that the love of its life (May's Bulbasaur) evolved, Bulbasaur will forget its decision to not evolve, and will evolve rapidly into Venusaur in an attempt to impress May's Venusaur. It succeeds, and they have a Bulbasaur egg which is given to Max as his starter. Ash learns all this from Oak upon returning to Pallet Town after the Unova League.
Squirtle: Ash will contact the Squirtle Squad's Officer Jenny requesting to have Squirtle sent to him, and she'll reveal that Squirtle evolved while putting out a particularly vicious fire. Wartortle will evolve into Blastoise in a battle against Team Rocket.
Bayleef: Ash will call upon some of his old Pokémon for the Generation VI Pokémon League. Bayleef, Quilava, and Croconaw (see Totodile's section) will evolve simultaneously in a Team Rocket battle.
Quilava: See Bayleef.
Totodile: Will evolve into Croconaw during a Team Rocket battle in Pallet Town after the Unova League. Then, see Bayleef.
Corphish: During the Generation VI league, Corphish will be used against, and losing badly to, an Exeggutor. The announcer will make a snide remark about Corphish having no chance of winning, and the stubborn Corphish will evolve just to prove him wrong and winds up crushing Exeggutor, now immune to its Psychic attacks.
Buizel: I don't see it evolving. Not for a long time, at least.
Gible: Evolves into Gabite during Ash's last battle in the Generation VI league or the Generation V filler saga. Evolves into Garchomp during the Generation VI league if it evolved into Gabite during the filler saga, or during the series finale if it evolved into Gabite during the VI league.
Haunter: Revealed to have evolved into Gengar under Sabrina's care.
Larvitar: Professor Elm contacts Oak and informs him that the Larvitar had evolved to Tyranitar. Oak relays this info to Ash.
Enjoy. Next time, I'll be covering Misty's Pokémon.
