Yep, it's time for a new series of blog posts by yours truly. In keeping with the impending release of B2/W2, I will be predicting the teams of the Gym Leaders, Elite 4, and Champion, and in the case of the latter two groups, the identities of some of those trainers. We already know the 8 Gym Leaders, so yeah.

Today we start with the first four Gyms.

Gym 1: Cheren
Badge: Basic
Prize TM: Round

Patrat is already confirmed. The second choice puts a Striaton-esque spin on Cheren's team, as well as letting a Normal-type specialist actually- gasp!- use something with a second type. Cheren would use Deerling if your starter was Oshawott, Bibarel if your starter was Tepig, and Pidove if your starter was Snivy. Cheren was already confirmed to only have two Pokémon, as well as being the first Gym Leader, so that's, yeah.

In reality: His second Pokemon is Lillipup. How original.

Gym 2: Homika
Badge: Toxic
Prize TM: Venoshock

Koffing is already confirmed. After the 1-hour Anime special, I'm more and more inclined to believe that Homika's second Pokémon will be an underleveled Garbodor with a difficulty level to rival Whitney's legenda(i)ry Miltank. She's confirmed to use 2 Pokémon and to be the second Gym Leader.

In reality: Her second Pokemon is an underleveled Whirlipede. Close enough.

Gym 3: Burgh
Badge: Insect
Prize TM: U-Turn

The badge case strongly implies that Castelia Gym will still be the third Gym. Burgh is confirmed to still be a Gym Leader, and I can't imagine that there won't be any changes to his team. Replacing Whirlipede with Joltik seems the most likely course of action to me, though I personally would prefer him to use Scolipede instead of Leavanny, I gotta be realistic here; he's not likely to have replaced his signature Pokémon. Oh, and changing the TM prize because Struggle Bug sucks balls.

Gym 4: Elesa
Badge: Bolt
Prize TM: Volt Switch

This one I really feel confident about. CoroCoro confirms Flaaffy, and the famous animated trailer heavily implies, if not confirms, Zebstrika and at least one Emolga.

Next time; the other 4 Gyms.

I don't think they'd give out one of the best Poison moves ever out so early, tbh.

And I think Garbador would be too powerful for a second gym. Maybe Whirlipede or something else.

Starmie, Scyther, and Roserade. The signature Pokemon of second gyms past, were they too powerful? Hmm? Two of those are fully evolved, one of them was considered fully evolved at one point. Besides, Falkner had an underleveled Pidgeotto, and he was Johto's first Gym Leader. And let's not even go into Roark's Cranidos, bearing in mind its mind-bending Attack stat. Point being, big powerhouses are not new territory for early gyms.

I don't get why Cheren couldn't be a dark type leader given that he was the one with the Liepard and Bianca was had Stoutland. Maybe Bianca traded Stoutland for Cheren's glasses?
