OMG, I killed Bulbagarden!

Today's the Valentines, a somewhat controversial day (at least in my country). On this day I hear the same sentence all the time. This sentence is a classic example of a stereotypical model of thinking. A model of thinking that makes me batshit crazy.

"You hate the Valentines only because you're single".

Well, while it's true that I'm a single, the reasons why I hate Valentines are purely ideological. I doubt that the Americans will understand what I'm saying. But the existence of The Valentine's Day in country such as Poland is an useless by-product of globalization. Really, we have so many traditional, beautiful days. Why do we have to celebrate and mimic EVERY.FUCKIN'.WESTERN.THING. First was The Valentines, then Halloween. What more? Thanksgiving?! Also, not to mention that The Valentines are just another commercialfest. Every commercialfest drives me mad.

And what's so bothersome about this model of thinking? It's simply annoying when people think that bad experiences, personal butthurt or plain envy must be a reason for EVERYTHING. I know, there are people who hate Valentines because they're single. But assuming that everyone does is stupid. I never hate something for such shallow reasons.

Same model of thinking can be applied to everything. Like, "You talk so much in the net because you have no friends IRL". That's also idiotic. Maybe my social life isn't perfectly perfect (not that I complain) but I'm really far from being rejected or something. I do have other people to talk about various things and I DO talk much. But that doesn't change the fact that talking in the Net amuses me just as much.

With those two examples, I think that you know what I'm talking about. It's one of the annoying things on the Earth as I consider myself to be an intelligent and reasonable person. I never hate such shallow reasons like neglecting Valentine's Day because of being single... Yet, I hear people implying that I do so all the time (one guy even got aggressive when I was trying to explain him that it's not a case, he was trying to prove that I'm a hypocrite as if it was his only worry).

So, please, never use such model of thinking. It's prejudging and unfair (like every stereotype). Some people may even get offended at all (I don't, though, I'm really used to the stupidity of people). If you do so, God kills a loving couple in your town.
