Why on earth did everyone leave Pokemon forums to post on tumblr's?

Seriously, what the hell? The reason why so many regular users on the forums are gone now is because they've all moved from forums to tumblr's. Now I have to lurk all these goddamn different tumblr blogs just to interact with them instead of everyone easily posting in one place like a forum.

Seriously. And people still have these misinformed opinions on things that I have to debate about them with on these random tumblr blogs instead of on forums for everyone to see. Now only a small handful of people can read my rants instead of everyone on an entire forum, how disappointing! :O

Tumblr is the worst thing to happen to the internet, and I don't have one of my own (and probably never will), but now I'm going to secretly lurk all these tumblr blogs in regards to Pokemon and correct people on misguides opinions. Because that's how I've rolled on the internet for the last 10 years.

I never forget old fandom grudges. Never forget.

I kinda agree, especially since on all the Pokemon ones all people do is basically repost the same pictures from other blogs. I mean there's barely any discussion about anything like on the forums.

I think I've received some of your anonymous ask on Tumblr >_> And you've sent CommanderPigg some too, I can tell from the way you write them.

Because, in comparison to these and some other anime forums, there isn't nearly as much as hate and negativity. You can't blame people for wanting to post in a more positive environment. The way BW was received made sure that even those that once stuck around leave.

Tumblr is only worth for pictures really, if one doesn't want to bother searching for stuff on pixiv or booru-like sites there all full of porn/ecchi/hentai (then again, tumblr is also full of these stuff). The negativity there is even more constant than on forums/boards, not to mention the amount of dumb people is... just sad.

there's always been other ways to discuss pokemon though, reddit, 4chan, even twitter

people like tumblr as an outlet to debate, give views and to find out news because it appears a lot of them time if you look for it or otherwise, and it's likely to go viral much quicker

Maybe that's why they switched to tumblr.....but trust me, only a small handful of people on the forums probably read your stuff as well.

Didn't you call someone a hater for thinking Delphox looked like a bad Fennekin3 even though they explained their reasoning logically and were nice about and even said "call me a hater all you want this is just my opinion?" The person even sent me a message saying how they were legit offended by your comment. No offense, but I feel like your perspective of the site is a little skewed because of one small thing. Some people think Doublade looks like a lazily designed Pokemon and they clearly explained why, they realize the same goes for Dugtrio/Magneton, people just think its a lazily Pokemon, even I, but I still like the Pokemon. Just like you don't care for Litleo's design. There are near 1000 of these creatures like there are many different flavors, no one's gonna love them all. :/

The thing about it is, Tumblr is multi-fandom...multi-everything. You can have your own little space even if you want, it's a place where I fangasm over what is acknowledged by the majority of the anime sections as the most awful, badly-written train-wreck of a Pokemon series on Bulbagarden, Pokemon Best Wishes, like a super-fanatic with zero fear of judgement and find others who think the same. No community is perfect by any means. Idiotic people exist everywhere, that's what I have to say. I can say, I've chilled out a lot since I've been on there more and have made amends with a few members here since then.

Yes, going to what Tsutarja said, the environment on the forums, anime section specifically, has been increasing toxic since around the middle of BW. But does that make it a bad community? No, I still do enjoy posting here sometimes and there are a lot of kind members I've met and interacted with with insightful opinions of the show and characters in it. That I can only find here and I enjoy being around them and talking to them a lot.

    "Correct people on misguided opinions"?

So if someone has different opinion about something and have different preferences or likes, dislikes he express toward this show he should be corrected, just because his views don't match yours?

I don't know but this seems to me like some crusade attempt to change people opinions killing diversity and uniqueness when it comes to debating and sharing their opinions/impressions aboit things they are interested in. Which is wrong thing to do.

p.s. To answer question its quite obvious. Most people don't like negativity nor are interested in constantly hearing rants, complaining and downplay of characters or sagas they prefer wanting to have lighthearted, relaxing and fun conversation.

To have place where they can cherish memories they have about something and speculate about things they would like to happen in anime without living in fear of being attacked and criticized having to constantly justify themselves if their desires and views differs from someone else.

Tumblr a safe place from negativity?

Every time I've seen Tumblr brought up it's usually in regards to someone telling cis-scum to die and people pretending to have debilitating disabilities.

    @Garren;

I take you've never been on Tumblr yourself. Trust me, I wouldn't be there if it was negative. The people are fun, hilarious and sweet. And the discussions regarding anime are much more positive than here, people are optimistic, make jokes etc. You just gotta make sure not to follow any assholes, because any site, including Tumblr has them.

Luckily for me, I'm following some great people and have great followers.

So what you're saying is you're mad because now that people have moved to tumblr you have to work harder stalk and harass them than you like. Yeah that's real classy.

I hope all the people you are annoying figure out that they can still block you even if you're posting in anon to their tumblrs.

Tumblr isn't free of negativity, but thing is, people are more likely to pay attention to what you're saying and what you have to share because it's bigger and you have more freedom on what to do. If people find themselves to be more comfortable on one site than on another site, then there's no problem.

Being able to share on Tumblr is incredible, I've made two posts related to origins and they got plenty of notes in less than 24 hours:

    Demon Prince Laharl

    Demon Prince Laharl: Photo

Posts which people liked and shared with everyone, more than the forum will probably ever have. Admittedly, with the forum here being incredibly smaller, it's easier to get accustomed with everyone, but that's the only real advantage. I also don't know why you're asking people on tumblr for opinions when you can do the same here via VM, we're all active here except for Commanderpigg.

I haven't gotten any anons about the anime either, I guess Scott doesn't think my opinions are interesting enough or even bothered to stalk my tumblr ;_;.

Also @Gotpika; I may have pretended to be Scott in one anon message :3.

I don't even know what your tumblr is, so its not me. Who is "Ericthered?" I think he's AgentPierce from Serebiiforums, but I'm not sure.

Well I changed my name on Tumblr some time ago after all, probably gonna change it again soon as well. You've also sent some anons to "Stage On" too. That guy is indeed AgentPierce from Serebii, he's quite amazing when it comes to discussions/debates/prodding into various topics in fandoms outside of Pokemon like The Legend of Korra.

I notice Ericthered and some other people constantly talk about Serena being a bad role model even before XY started because she likes fashion or may have a crush on the Ash. I think you were one of the people telling them not to judge Serena?

That whole debate was ridiculous too.

Get a Tumblr, that way you can follow them all and see what they're up to in just one page so you can show them the light on what to think about the anime.

Not I, I don't really have a solid opinion of Serena so haven't really given her heavy criticism or praise. I'm waiting more for the episodes to air before I change my stance on her, just indifferent to her thus far.

I'm a, "oldie" when it comes to the internet. I don't use anything from 2005 onward, so no twitter, tumblr, tweet's, or any of that crap.

I remember being on the internet before youtube was invented. Back then you had to wait like 10 minutes to download a 2 minute video clip of something. That's how old I am. :(
