...no, not new Pokemon. It means the next big female protagonist war in Pokemon will start all over again.

Next gen it'll be Misty Vs. May Vs. Dawn Vs. Iris Vs. 6th gen girl.

Every time the new female protagonist is revealed the female character debates start all over again. I don't want to be around for the next big female protagonist war. Every new female protagonist is compared directly to their predecessor and the ones before, and then each character gets their own little separate fanbase.

But what exactly can they do? The girls are now even:

- Two female Gym leaders who tag along and bicker with Ash (Misty and Iris)

- Two female coordinators who start off as rookie trainers that Ash looks after (May and Dawn)

What the hell can they do next? The writers have made it clear they are incapable of creating truly unique characters outside of the same character traits, (even arguably Brock, Max, Tracey and Cilan all filled the same role), so what is going to happen?

Man, back in my day it was only Misty and May....now there will be 5 different female protagonists with Ash. Time to get ready for 2013 everyone, it will be the return of the female protagonist debates for the 5th time!

Everyone batter down the hatches!

Why not go the opposite way and make the ultimate composite? Gen 6: Mawnstyris.

Why doesn't anyone fight over the dudes? They need love too. It's bad enough they never get more than a cameo because of dumb Ash.

Maybe the'll get rid of Ash and start with some new chick who has a Pikachu. But they can't get rid of ash without a heartfelt reunion with Butterfree

Tracey is so special that he gets to appear in openings as the only former travel companion. He's been wearing the same green shirt since 1999 and never changed. What a filthy boy!

See the looks he gives Misty's sister? He's a little more than just 'filthy.'

I have always thought Tracey wanted to score with all 4 of the Cerulean sisters. At the same time. That's why he keeps his sketchbook handy.

Ah, how exciting. The great camp-fire stories about the female protagonist wars I can tell the kids about in five years time are taking form. Truly a wonderful time to be alive.

Yes you do, don't lie. That's why you keep coming back to the forums.

Anyways, I hope they put a boy Ash's age and an older girl or something, that'd be interesting :T

Scott have you accepted that Ash won't win the Unova League or participate in the Champion League? :I

Scott, you got all my respect for that line. That was some funny shit.

Because it's what the fanbase does.

Oh, I am definitely not looking forward the the wank that happens whenever we get a new female companion. I swear, Ash goes through them almost as much as the Doctor.

I don't even view girls being so similar to them in first place. May and Dawn were both coordinators yes, but their personalities, motivations and storylines were vastly distinct from each other. Same applies to Misty and Iris. Misty was more of coach and mentor with people liking her unique personality and background, while with Iris she doesn't really provide moral support nor act as Ash coach or rival with fanbase i here complaining about her the most out of all female protagonists being largely disappointed with writing and role writers gave her so far going as far to start calling her "Mary Sue".

I also noticed how Iris fanbase seems smaller than other girls, had especially Misty and May too with number of fanarts, clubs and interest being surprisingly small so far.

But in all honesty im tired if all this constant girl replacing, tuning pokemon in harem instead of having anime with stabilized cast which grows forward. I would rather have one of previous female characters back for extra twist to do continuation of somewhat developed and experienced character going in new directions, instead of getting predictable scenery of "new girl joins in, sticks around for 3 or 4 years, get halfway developed leaving unfinished just to never be seen again aside from obligatory one time thing regional cameo afterwards.

This formula is rather pathetic and boring, leaving several great characters forgotten instead of utilizing all that massive potential they could provide.

Doctor Who says hello. How many female companions has that show gone through over the years?

And that's why i find such concept ridiculous. I rather prefer that they work more with something they already have instead of throwing it away in trash can replaced with next character, which wont get ay better treatment either eventually ending abandoned like he was never part of anime in first place.

By end of anime we might end up with 20 different girl companions(possibly more) having ton of unfinished characters which ended up forgotten somewhere down the road, being pointless to even add them in first place.

But whatever if people find this route "exciting", instead of investing more in successful characters doing sequel, its their call.

I'm going to be the most rapid fan of gen 6 girl calling it now.
