So I visited the new official site for the next Ranger site yesterday. I'm not one of those people who always complains about American names of the characters, but I've gotta say I can't stand Hastings' name.

Why? Because the Muppet fan in me remembers that Season One of Sesame Street way back in the 70s had a round blue character named "Professor Hastings" who did nothing but lecture, and bore himself to sleep while talking. So now I'm not going to be able to look at him without thinking of those sketches.

Oh, and Team Dim Sun looks oddly happy in their picture. Like, if it weren't for the fact that they were wearing black and violet, I'd think they were friendly NPCs. Dunno, that's just me. Not to mention the fact that their name sounds more like a tasty dumpling than villains. But hey, I'm not going to complain about American names...

    No comment on Kellyn? Been meaing to look up if that name has any sort of meaining.

    EDIT: So in the first website I looked at, it didn't have it in its database, but it has a list of "suggested" names that are close to it.

    The second website has it listed as "Kelly and Lyn" combined as the name meaning. It says its only a girl name, though Kelly is apparantly a unisex name of Gaelic origin meaning "War; strife; bright-headed." Lyn had a hughe list for names and meainings.

    Maybe Kellyn had his name combined from both his parents or something? Kind of lost the original meaning it had for the Japanese name.

    Professor Hastings is also a character who dates back to 2006...

    Ah, sorry Saturn, you're right...I never played the first Ranger, so I'm not really up on the character names at all...

    It's ok.

    Just as a crash course, Hastings founded the Ranger Union and played a major role in the first game...which I am guessing he reprises in the sequel.

    Also in the sequel you will see characters named Billy, Garret, Clyde and Tiffany appear together as a rock band---they are the "Go-Rock Quads," the main villains from the first Ranger, but from what I understand, they only make a minor cameo. Worth watching for though.
