  1. The crown jewel of the NES: Startropics

Ah, the good old NES days. I wasn't personally playing games back then yet (I started during the N64 era, and it still is my favorite console ever) but I've played many of the important NES games with the help of remakes/GBA NES games/Virtual Console. One can definitely say that the NES era was perhaps the most innovative era out of all Nintendo's consoles. Here debuted many of the big N's beloved franchises and characters (Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Fire Emblem, Mother, and many more) that have ...

  2. Game-o obscuro: Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland

So, have you heard about Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland? You know, starring the 35 year old fairy maniac/greedy bastard often seen in the Legend of Zelda games (debuting in the excellent Majora's Mask, which is really one of the best games out there (maybe I'll even write a blog entry about it some time)) Not everyone really knows about this game. The reason for that is that it hasn't been released in the USA, only in Japan and Europe (and it won't be likely to get a US release, either, ...

  3. My trusty DS Phat

I am one of those people who bought the original DS (commonly referred as DS Phat) back in its launching year. I was thrilled to finally get it (I had been saving my allowance for it). Of its launch games I enjoyed Super Mario 64 DS and WarioWare: Touched the most. Back then I remember wondering about if Nintendo would one day release an "updated version" of the DS, like it had done with all of its other handheld gaming system. Still, I promised myself not to fall for this improved DS, ...

  4. Top of the crop: The Ace Attorney Series (Part 3, Final Part)

REMEMBER, SPOILERS! Before I get down to business and tell my impressions of Apollo, I'd like to summarize all the elements that make this series so great. The plot is good and the cases are usually well-thought. There are many funny and memorable characters. Being in the courtroom just pwns. And the music is very good: These games have one of the best soundtracks on DS. Okay, let's talk about Apollo, now.

The first case, Turnabout Trump, is my overall favorite of the first cases. ...

  5. Top of the crop: The Ace Attorney Series (Part 2)

Ok, more Ace Attorney stuff coming up (including the SPOILERZ (LOL, that sounds like Ubisoft's new Ubicrap game)). This time I'll take a look at Trials and Tribulations:

Ok, JFA was my first Ace Attorney and I liked it. I didn't have the first game, so I didn't have anything to compare JFA to (might explain why I didn't think of it the same as some people). However, Trials and Tribulations is much better than JFA. The cases are just more interesting and I liked how the plot was tied ...
