Ok, so, I'm not going to just list off all of the films that came out in February, mostly because you guys already know all of the movies the came out this month and that would just be redundant. What I am going to do is tell you guys about a few... random stories that I thought were pretty cool.
Movies based on games... Board games, that is.
It looks like over the next few years we're going to see a wave of movies that are based off of some of the most classic and popular board games out there.
As though his plate wasn't full enough, with several potentially blockbuster films in the works, Pirates director Gore Verbinski has announced that he is going to direct an on-screen adaptation of the popular board game Clue for Universal... and he's not the only one.
Even Academy Award nominated director Ridley Scott wants in on the fun, having signed on to direct an adaptation of one of my personal favorites, Monopoly.
Other films include an adaptation of the board game Candyland (WTF?!) and a movie starring the 1970's action figure Stretch Armstrong.
There are a lot of reviews about the Watchmen out there already and I've had to discipline myself heavily in order not to read them. Instead, I plan on seeing it at midnight on Thursday night (Well, I guess it'd be Friday then, huh?). I hope to give you guys my *cough* unbiased *cough* review by Friday morning so you guys can consider it for the weekend (then again, that's if any of you value my opinion any).
So, that's it for this update. I'll hopefully see you guys again on Friday with a review of the highly anticipated Watchmen movie. Until then, see ya later!
