Onigiri for dinner

Well this is the first time I made onigiri and the first time I've ever had them for dinner. My mother helped me with the stove since I'm a pathetic sheltered 19 year old who has gotten by with microwave dinners.
I cheated in the end and put rice vinegar on two riceballs and when I ate it, I could for some reason taste the smooth texture of the grains better.
Unfortunately I had one main issue.
Originally, when we were at the Asian supermarket, I planned on looking for the nori myself because the onigiri I ate in Manhattan had a whole jacket of nori around it and not just the strip you see in anime and biting into that nori was ten levels of awesome.
However, when we arrived at the supermarket, there was a raging lightning storm going on outside, trees were knocked down in the parkinglot and the store had no power. My mom told one of the guys with a flashlight that she needed sushi ingredients and I guess sushi requires less nori than onigiri. That's also how I ended up with sushi vinegar, but that was yummy on my onigiri. (I also tried green tea mochi. It's safe to say that I'm more of a strawberry mochi girl myself, having tried the above and red bean mochi.)
So maybe next time I stop by the super, I can pick up larger strips of the nori. I still have a somewhat large packet of rice.
btw I was really surprised when the rice was done, how big it became.
