There's been a meme going around the mp3_share comm at LJ where you take your username and post a download link to a song from your library starting with each letter of it. I decided it would be a fun little thing to do, so I thought I'd try it, and it turns out the songs I picked out for my name make for a pretty good picture of my musical tastes.

Nice Buddy- Puffy
Everytime We Touch- Cascada
Kinjirareta Asobi- Ali Project
USSR- The Beatles
Summer Night City- ABBA
Asterisk- Orange Range
Give a Reason (Para Para version)- Yoko Ishida
Indelible Sin- Nana Kitade

There's two old bands on there (I like the classics, I won't deny it) one of which can technically be called Europop (and was more or less the very origin of it), two techno songs (Everytime We Touch and Give a Reason) one of which is the opening song to the second season of Slayers, as a Para Para cover (Give a Reason), one J Rock song (Asterisk), some average J pop (Puffy and Nana Kitade), and to cover my love of offbeat, orchestral stuff and visual kei, Kinjirareta Asobi (the opening of the first season of Rozen Maiden).

It's interesting how eight songs, picked to fill up letters, can define me so well.

If you consider that there are more than tens of thousands of songs in existence, the probability of finding a song that fits both your name's letters and your tastes is quite high.

    Well, yeah.

But given my library (plus the fact I was determined not to repeat songs or genres), I found mine particularly interesting, that's all.

Oh wow, that sounds kinda fun actually. If I was actually participating in something like this, I'd have to do something like...

Somebody to Love - Jefferson Airplane
    About a Girl - Nirvana
Twenty-three Cents - Touch Me Zoo
    Orange Sun - Shonen Knife
    Scarecrow - Pink Floyd
Half a World Away - REM
In My Life - The Beatles

Kick the Bucket - Mindless Self Indulgence
Under My Wheels - Alice Cooper
Nobody Falls Like - The Dead Milkmen

    Mysterious Ways - U2
    All I Want is You - U2
Thought I'd Died and Gone to Heaven - Bryan Adams
Kite [Live from Sydney] - U2
In Undertones [Chi's Theme] - Chobits
Not One of Us - The Lion King 2
    2815 AD - WALL-E
2 Hearts Beat as One - U2 (I only have one song beginning with "2" in my entire library! This was the only other option{and it's slightly cheating because it's written as 'Two'}!)
