Possible Interview...

Well, this is something that I've wanted to do. Every since I read poke07's interview with John Loeffler, I've been searching for a way to contact one man in particular: Shinji Miyazaki. Now you may be asking yourself "Who is Shinji Miyazaki and why would PokemonHero want to contact him?"

Shinji Miyazaki is the composer for all the Pokemon anime music in Japan. If you've seen some of the newer Pokemon movies, then you've heard some of his compositions. Unfortunately, there really isn't much about him on the Internet.

However, I may have possibly found a way to contact him. But I'm a little hesitant. I really do not know what type of answer I will get back, so I have yet to send an e-mail. That's why I've posted here. I want you, the people of BMGf, to help me out. Post your questions and give me some encouragement.

I'd like to know if he has any piece of music he's composed that stands out as a favorite.

If he scored movie 2, ask him why Jirarudan's theme is so inconsistant with the character, casting him as far more of an evil presence than he wound up being.

Also how about his influences? Like other film composers, composers of other things, etc. And how he got hired working on Pokemon and what some of his other projects are.

Okay, here's the e-mail that I am planning to send. No questions or anything, just the request to contact Shinji Miyazaki. I'm trying to not make it sound bad, so I want you're opinion:

    To whom this may concern,

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Chris. I am sixteen years-old and live in the United States. I've grown up with the Pokemon series, both the games and the show, and I am an active member of numerous Pokemon forums across the Internet.

I am sending this e-mail in an attempt to contact Shinji Miyazaki, the composer for the Pokemon series. As I've grown older, I've grown to appreciate the music, especially the music in the movies. For a long time, I wondered who was the person behind the compositions.

I have looked all over to find the best way to try and contact him; this was the most promising way that I found. If Mr. Miyazaki is willing to, I would like to ask him some questions through e-mail that myself and other members of Pokemon fandom have for him. However, if he does not wish to, or is not available to answer questions, I will not pursue the matter any further.

I would be very much obliged if someone could put in contact with Mr. Miyazaki. Any answer would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely yours,

    Chris Zimmerman

P.S. If you do reply, could you possibly do it in English? I'm not very good at translating Japanese.
Note: I included the P.S. because the e-mail address is a Japanese website.

I think it'd be really important to be able to translate.

Well, if worse comes to worse, I'll try to see if I could get Sushi on SPPf to help me out. Or (if I'm really desperate), I could try to run it through some online translator and hope for the best. But I'm hoping that someone knows enough English that I could get some answers.

Well, I've sent out the request. Now all we can do is wait. I'll have the response in its own separate blog entry.
