So yeah, a week ago, I returned home from Europe. I had a great time in Greece, Italy, and Spain. All the while, we had numerous interesting encounters.
Such was the case one afternoon in Athens. We had been given some free time to wander around town a bit, so I went with three other people to get some gyros. We found a place, ordered our food, and waited. As we sat there talking, a little girl, no more than ten years old, approached our table. She pretty much fit the description of a gypsy.
Well, one of the guys had a glass of water sitting on the table. Suddenly, without saying a word, she reached out and tried to grab it. Matt (the guy) fended her off, while the rest of us looked on in sheer shock, wondering what to do. I mean, we couldn't lay our hands on her, or we would be in serious trouble. She ended up sticking her fingers in the glass and sucking the water off. After a little bit, she wandered off, going to other tables, probably looking for money.
But not that long after, she came back. And before we realized what was going on, she grabbed the glass of water and started drinking it. To prevent any interference, she grabbed Matt's arm, making sure he wouldn't try to grab it from her until she was finished.
So she drank what she want, set the glass back on the table, and just walked out of the restaurant like that. The four of us (except for Matt) found ourselves laughing about what had just happened. Trust me, it was the strangest thing ever.
PS Hopefully, I'll be able to put up some photos from the trip somewhere. We got to go to some amazing places, like Meteora (which was the basis for some of the setting in the upcoming Pokemon movie).
