Some of you may remember the Diplomacy Games that Evil Figment (formerly DamainSilverblade) used to run around here. Well, we're working on a very cool modern variant of the diplomacy game now. It's called Flashpoint. For now, we're not going to be talking about too many details--but it will be a hypermodern, exciting variant of the old "Diplo Games."

Working on a new formula for PokéBARS that takes into account some of the criticisms of the previous plan. (For more detail on that and the discussion that followed, see my previous blog post and comments.)
If anybody has comments or ideas of their own, drop me a line here. I should finalize version 0.2 of the formula by the middle of next week.
I wanted some thoughts on a new feature I've been thinking about: PokéBARS, or the Pokémon Battle Aptitude Ranking System.
The system works like this. People sign up to be in a league. Battles take place. Margins of victory (6-0, 4-0, 1-0) are recorded. Then PokéBARS comes into play, as a means of comparing relative skill of players.

So Bulbagarden has a pair of Twitter accounts at the moment. (They're @Bulbagarden and @Bulbanews; you should follow us!) But right now they're essentially regurgitating what's said on other parts of Bulbagarden--either links from the Forum, the 'pedia, or Bulbanews. And social media is not about lecturing or being rigid and static. It's about sharing and being interactive, and Bulbagarden has a way to go before we're at that point.
